MGC is a general contractor specializing in water production and wastewater treatment throughout Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Following forty-two years of project management experience and working with contractors performing construction for the Texas Water Development Board, the Lower Colorado River Authority and the City of Austin, I have had the pleasure to work with many good and several great contractors.

However, I have only had the pleasure to work with two contractors that I would classify as exceptional contractors, and MGC is one of those two exceptional contractors.

Mr. Gates began his career in the water and wastewater industry as a teenager by working in his family plumbing business. Over the last 45 years he has advanced from Plumber's Assistant to President of MGC Contractors. Randy takes a hands-on approach to every project MGC pursues and executes. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management and has been with MGC for 27 years.

MGC Contractors, Inc. has operated continuously since 1982. MGC Contractors, Inc. was preceded by MGC Construction, Ltd., which began business in the greater Phoenix area in 1974 and for over 40 years, our company has been a water and wastewater industry leader in the Southwest. We specialize in all forms of water/wastewater General Contracting including Job Order Contracting (JOC), Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), Design-Bid-Build (DBB), and Design-Build (DB) throughout the Southwest with operations in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.

Services Report

As the Construction Manager at Risk for this Scottsdale project, MGC was responsible for drilling and equipping this replacement well which was part of a pump and treat operation for the Indian Bend Superfund Site. The facility was drilled and equipped within 100 feet of private residences and no complaints were lodged due to the efficient sound barrier system that was used while drilling the well.

Quality Report

Quality Control (QC) is MGC's prime responsibility. QC begins with the initial design assumptions or work descriptions. We have a saying at MGC that "quality is designed in". Examples of this are laying out piping systems and equipment installations such that operations staff can quickly access all valves to make adjustments easily and safely.
