Built our home with Thomas archer 3 years ago. I have worked in construction for 24 years now. Throughout the duration of our build I was never invited on a walk through as promised. Our build also went over the allocated time of our contract. Costing us a lot of money in rent. Our house was rendered the wrong colour. Our contract was totally wrong and we ended up without alot of features that we had wanted and paid for.
Our dishwasher has been incorrectly installed and at least had 10 attempts at someone fixing it. (It still is not installed correctly) It is a constant battle to try and get things fixed. Recently our bedroom door Handle failed and our 4 year child was locked in the bedroom. I tried everything to open the door and ended up having to damage the door to break in.
I was told by Thomas archer, i could have used a credit card to open the door? We spoke with Thomas archer and they refuse to fix the door. Our home has also flooded 3 times. Twice because of the upstairs bath and once due to a incorrectly installed flashings. (Thomas archer refused to fix flooding from flashing issue again) Our Hebel panelling has hair line cracks in it, and you can actually see the outline of each panel in some areas.
Again they told us this was normal and refuse to fix it. If your looking for a close relationship with a builder and a good experience throughout building your dream home. I would definitely look elsewhere, and most definitely not recommend Thomas archer. I hear carter grange are much more professional and helpful. However they look fantastic on there instagram page!

We spent 12 months going through the design process with TAH and wasted over $10k because of their ineptitude and dishonesty. Before proceeding with them we provided TAH with a soil and site survey and gave them very clear and specific instructions about our site and brief requirements, we were told that they could accommodate our requirements and we paid multiple fees for them to proceed.
A preliminary quote was provided and were told it would not deviate more than 5% at contract stage. Our site and design brief stayed the same throughout, we actually reduced the size of the home. We sent email upon email and had many conversations to reiterate the same brief, they had constant personnel changes, communication was terrible and the people we dealt with simply forgot or did not listen to what we communicated in prior emails or just long periods of radio silence.
Basic instructions were not followed, an example of this is we needed to send 4 emails instructing them we wanted square down pipes and not round, an item which was at no cost or effort to change, but each time we got our revised plan this was ignored. When we finally got our tender document and their price came in 40% more than their preliminary quote, their excuse was the site engineering was more expensive than anticipated.

We have just started our residential project with Thomas Archer homes. They have great people to work with : Colin, Prash, Aimee, Rebecca, Mathanki and of course Jess. I can see the professionalism in their job. They have been responsive in our communication and fair in meeting our expectation. We really appreciate the approach of being flexible and friendly. Can't wait to see our new home taking shape.

We built with Thomas Archer four years ago and they have been absolutely terrific. We just love our house and the fact we could customise it through the design phase to get exactly what we wanted. After construction support has been outstanding as well. My wife and I take our hats off to the team and we are deeply grateful for an excellent job well done.

We could not be happier with our new home. Building can be exhausting and our past experiences had left us a little apprehensive. Classic example of grabbing your money up front and taking the average customer for a ride. Promising the world for you to sign up and hand over your money and then delivering the worst possible scenario. We are just a little family just trying to build their dream home. Lost thousands of hard earned money and a lot of time with this company. We ended up back at square one with nothing to show for it!
The most disappointing part is the lack of communication or concern from their directors about their clients. Not even a single courtesy call or follow-up. So many more friendly and reputable builders our their that actually care. DO YOUR HOMEWORK and get EVERYTHING in writing before handing over your dollars.
