Moving to a new town without much of the local knowledge, I heavily relied on Bigelow's expertise when it comes to selection of material that is functional, durable and aesthetically pleasing. Throughout the design and building process, Jeremy promptly and patiently answered all my questions and provided the best advice. The subcontractors Bigelow work with are all courteous and helpful in every aspect. Bigelow staff is nice an friendly too: Chad and Jon are super knowledgeable and Cheryl is always helpful, cheerful, and friendly.
While building a new home is considered an overwhelming process, Bigelow has eased my nerves by making it personable through their genuine desire to help make clients happy. Bigelow have earned my trust with integrity and honesty.

We have worked with Bigelow Homes twice. The first time we worked with Jeremy to build our townhouse. Jeremy was very good to work with and he listened to what we had to say. The second time we worked with Mike. He was wonderful to work with as well. He answered all of our questions and responded in a timely manner. We don't plan to build or move again but if we did, we would work with Bigelow Homes without hesitation.

Initially loved the home when we first put an offer on the house. When we bought the home the son of the owner walked us through the house and we pointed out a few things that we assumed would have been fixed before then. The son assured us they would be fixed in due time and quickly got our money and final signatures. Within a week the siding in the back of our house was falling down and our AC unit was about to fall off the incredibly steep slope/grade that they made and into our neighbors yard.
The weekend before we moved-in the sod was placed down minus the last two rows, why?, because they ran out. I emailed and called Bigelow several times. thank god for their office person Cheryl! She reassured me every time that they were on it and would give me frequent updates if the status changed. It would take another month before the last two rows of sod were placed down, but we did get it and it was very nice sod.
The siding ordeal would take two months with the sub-contractor constantly replacing the siding, it falling off again, replacing, falling off again, etc. then him leaving his trash in our driveway -- Another call to Cheryl for them to come and get it. Bigelow finally put up a retaining wall for our AC unit about a month after we moved in. Didn't receive a call when they would be working on it, just came home one day and it was there.
With that being said, they used really nice boulders and it apparently only took a day to do. All in all, we placed a bid on the house because we loved it, the interior design (colors and materials), the layout, and functionality. six months after living in the house we still love it. One of the selling features they gave us was that the house was very well insulated.
As a buyer you basically have to take their word for it because how are you to really know until you live it in. With the temperatures waxing and waning into the single digits I can definitely confirm this house is very well insulated and that includes our garage which also seems unusually warm for a garage in the winter. The craftsmanship from Bigelow has been great, the framing is solid wood and no problems with the floors, etc. However, their sub-contractors seem to do mediocre work compared to Bigelow. which is something Bigelow should really look into.

Bigelow's sub contractors are horrible from drywall painting to concrete even grading the yard. Save yourself the headache and find a builder that cares about quality and not quantity that's all these guys care about is how many they build. Once you sign the papers they brush there hands and won't return calls. If you do get them to come back to fix anything it's either done halfass or they just put a bandaid on it to shut you up I don't normally write reviews but for what you spend on houses you shouldn't be taken advantage of like these guys do to people do you research and ask around before you go through Bigelow.
