Absolute disappointment. Paint peeling on our drywall in our master bath shower, water drainage slope on our front porch area is so severely sloped a chair can't be used. Had the bathroom inspected by two plumbers and a drywall company. Wrong drywall or paint was used during construction. Wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I received the same treatment from the management as others have described. Arrogance and communication with the home buyer is an absolute disappointment. Will not use Briggs or recommend in the future.

Buyer Beware-- If you would like to see what your house will look like 2 yrs after being built come see my house. Plaster falling from load bearing walks- HUGE cracks in wall that have already been repaired twice. Another construction company came in and said they didn't use screws in the tresses which is why the plaster is falling from ceiling and walks keep cracking from movement if house in cold and heat. Repeated attempts to office and on site manager and text messages to owner of company were returned with patronizing responses that I obviously don't understand home construction.

I understand this might not be everyone's experience, but this was ours. Here are the problems we experienced with Briggs Homes and ERA Select Real Estate. Lazy craftsmanship, they used broken 2x4s for framing that we had to have replaced, they placed the external heat pump unit in the wrong place which took several months before they would move it, then they left the cutout from the lines in the back of the house for several more weeks before they just put some siding over it. Also, the heat pump had a bad thermostat that was looked at several times before it was found to be heating in the cooling mode, and cooling in the heat mode which cost us several hundred dollars in electric bills.
We were told a vanity with a knee hole cutout was standard for the master bath but when that wasn't installed we were told by the ERA Select agent that the standard had changed, however a message from Mr. Briggs himself said that standard had changed over a year prior. During construction we found a drywall worker literally standing on a pile of trash trying to mud the master bedroom ceiling and you can tell it affected the quality of the work.
We selected to have the family room pre-wired for surround sound speakers but it was never done, which was never caught by the electrician, project manager, or anyone except us after it was too late to fix. Most recently we discovered that the breaker box in the garage was grossly mislabeled and the breaker switches don't turn off what they are labeled to turn off.
As first time home buyers/builders we tried to be cautious but put our trust in Briggs Homes and ERA Select Real Estate and in the end we feel we were taken advantage of. Between the lazy craftsmanship, poor oversight, and outright dishonesty our next build will definitely not be with Briggs and unfortunately for the next builder we'll be less trustworthy and more detail oriented.
