The barn was built around 1850, and originally owned by James Seddon, who was the Secretary of the Confederacy. It was used as his stable. During Dahlgren's Raid, the barn was burned and the original roof was destroyed. You can still see the charred brick on the second floor of the structure. The roof was rebuilt, shortly after the war, or late 19th century.

We can work with your architect, recommend one we have worked with, or help with design 'in-house'. Assembling your project team early is important to ensuring a smooth transition between design, production and completion. Our approach gives you the best opportunity for realizing your original vision.

The difference in renovating or adding on, and new construction, is that new construction requires less site supervision and renovation requires almost full-time, qualified supervision. In most cases we can build around you. While the job is underway, you can still live at home. We have a great deal of experience in high-quality kitchen and bath remodeling, one or two story additions, and whole house renovations. Sometimes the bones are there and they just need to be made into an updated, user-friendly space.

Choosing your builder is probably the most important, of all the myriad decisions you will make in this process. Our portfolio includes custom home construction, additions and extensive remodels. Building codes are a "minimum" to which spec construction is built. We enjoy building to a higher standard.
