Mirsky Electric

Mirsky Electric saved me from a living hell. Matt and Seamus really went above and beyond. I'd had a few projects done by Mirsky in the past, so when dealing with an emergency wherein my house was suddenly without running water (due to a critical path booster pump drawing too much current such that it tripped the breaker), I naturally reached out to Matt.

Despite Mirsky typically having a long backlog, plus Matt and his whole team being in training the week I reached out, he helped me diagnose the issue over email through a series of exchanged photos, videos, star signs and cosmological events, etc. Upon accurately describing the issue and likely fix required (drilling some holes through my drywall to install a junction box / wire that through to a new 20A breaker in my circuit breaker panel), Matt then was able to get me an opening the week after - critical as I'd then be traveling for 10 days starting the week after that, and I needed to leave my cat and catsitter with running water.

I can tell you for sure that this was not the type of work I felt comfortable trusting an unknown 24-hour contractor with, so as much as not having water for 8 days was painful, the alternative was not getting Mirsky out here for weeks more (due to their typically busy schedule) or going with a 24-hour tech who may not have done the job right. Upon arriving, Seamus quickly sized up the issue, identified the correct fix, thought of ways to minimize the drywall damage, wired everything up in less than two hours, left the place completely clean, and even left the 6 perfectly circular cut-out drywall pucks for me to patch back in later. Finally, the price was more than reasonable and they refused to accept a rush fee. I r8 8/8!

I contacted Mirsky Electric on Monday morning looking for a quote on an EV charger install and to diagnose some moderate LED flickering. Within 90 minutes I received a call back from Matt who let me know they were booked pretty far out for estimates, and even further out for the work. He was also very up front that diagnosing the LED flickering would likely be quite time-consuming and costly because I've already done all the trouble shooting and it's matter of finding the interference that's causing it, somewhere in the whole house.

Probably not worth the cost. I thanked him the call back and said I'll probably need to install the EV charger myself as I need to complete it sooner than they would be available. I had a couple follow up questions to make sure I was selecting the optimal equipment for that install and Matt quickly replied back with the info I needed. I first hired Mirsky Electric to rewire our house 10 years ago and they've been my go-to electricians ever since. Matt Morningstar is very responsive to calls, texts and emails. He is always friendly and helpful. The electricians do great work. The scheduling is prompt. I've never had anyone stand me up or fail to follow through with Mirsky Electric. I highly recommend them.

Best contractor we've ever hired. For the past two years, we've been renovating our century-old home. I've interviewed more than 50 contractors and hired more than a dozen for everything--drywall, electric, drainage, tree pruning, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, roofing, and more. Of all the contractors we have hired, Mirsky was hands down the best.

They installed recessed lights for us and fixed a myriad assortment of random electrical issues, fixing outlets, replacing our bathroom fan, changing the order of switches, etc. From start to finish, we had an excellent experience. We had to wait a few months for our initial appointment and estimate, and it was worth the wait. They know what they're doing and do it very well.

They were very responsive, adaptable, and communicative, even as our list of needs continued to grow. Scheduling was a breeze. They were punctual and finished the work in the estimated time and on budget. Seamus's work was simply fantastic. He was meticulous in his care for our furniture and home. His electrical work was top notch. Everything worked beautifully and I was so impressed with his attention to detail and skill.

We liked his work so much that we hired Mirsky again to install more lights in our home. Seamus did such a clean and precise job that we didn't even need any drywall repair after he cut holes in our ceiling to install the lights. I 100% recommend this company. They were the best contractor experience we have had.

We had a list of jobs to do and received a nicely detailed quote from Mirsky. We had to schedule pretty far out but they did great work when they got here, and it ended up being quicker and cheaper than quoted. They kept us informed about the progress they were making and made sure to check with us for any decisions that had to be made.

Very happy with the work I had completed last week. All very simple items (replacing broken outlets/switches). Employee wore a mask and took off his shoes indoors - which was much appreciated. Pricing was on par with multiple other companies I reached out to, and their office manager was great (timely and responsive).

This is a firm that stands behind their work. They are not only skilled and courteous but patient and understanding with prickly situations. I had some work electrical work done by Mirsky Electric. They replaced some faulty parts but in an attempt to save me money they left in some that failed soon after. When I called they came back, completed the repair and waived some fees that would have made the repair incredibly expensive.

After I forgot to pay the second invoice, they contacted and nicely asked that I pay. I mailed a check which they did not receive and I became that "checks in the mail" guy which I felt horribly about since they had been so fair. We got the bill paid and they maintained their professional, courteous demeanor through the whole process. Turn the dial to Mirsky and break off the knob - you can't do any better.

I couldn't be happier with Mirsky's work! I wanted to upgrade our bathroom exhaust fan to a model with a heater, which required adding a dedicated circuit. Mirsky's was the only company that even got back to me about the job. Matt was super responsive and able to give me a virtual quote after seeing photographs. They were able to schedule me very soon, and Nate came out right on schedule.

He and a helper were able to replace the fan and add the circuit within a few hours, with an absolute minimum of holes (one small one in above the breaker box in the unfinished laundry room, which they were able to cover with a wall plate so that no repair is necessary!). If I ever have more electrical work to be done, I'm definitely reaching out to Mirsky first!

Mike arrived on time, was professional and a nice guy. One of the circuits in our house stopped working and the breaker kept tripping. He did some diagnostics and was not sure exactly what the cause was. Replaced the breaker and all now seems to be working fine.

Mike just left our house and he was fantastic! He fixed all of our issues and taught us a whole bunch along the way. I was referred to Mirsky by Dean's Home Repair and I am incredibly happy with the work they did for us. To set the scene, I am living out of state and our house was going on the market in less than 1 week. We wanted to update some electrical sockets, per recommendations by our home pre-inspection. Matt got me a quote, scheduled an electrician, and Seamus had the work done in that time frame.

They worked with me despite a few setbacks and miscommunications on my part and charged what I believe was a fair price. I was pretty desperate and they could have taken advantage of me--but they didn't, which is also worth mentioning. Highly recommend!

Great! Prompt accurate communication and estimate and solid work. Can't ask for any better than that. Will definitely use again and recommend. They installed 2 exterior outlets with appropriate weather cover as well as fixed a last minute add on interior outlet repair. Felt the price was fair and right on target for work done.

We are extremely happy with the recessed lighting Seamus installed in our living room and kitchen plus wiring for new fixtures in the bedrooms of our 1912 home. Mirsky was very professional in all of our communications with scheduling and helped answer all of our questions. Seamus came out for an estimate and had a ton of great ideas on how to improve the lighting in our house, including adding some very cool Lutron Caseta dimmers that can be controlled with a smart assistant. Seamus was very professional and friendly to work with.

Overall the project came out under budget from the original estimate, and best of all, the lights look great! I would highly recommend Mirsky for any electrical work. They have great prices and the highest quality work. Seamus and Matt at Mirsky are great!

Mirsky installed 4 LED can lights in my living room ceiling, and a dimmer switch on the wall. Matt was easy to work with and very responsive via email. He was able to provide a quote based on particular photos that he requested. Nate did a terrific job on the installation - kudos to him! I appreciate the quality of his work and his ability to work with the needs of our household.

There are four of us online working from home and schooling from home. It was very nice how Nate worked quietly and checked with me before he started any work that might impact our home internet, which is on the same electrical circuit as the new can lights.

Have used Mirsky several times both on residential work and in my capacity managing facilities for a private school. They have been responsive, competitive, friendly and safe. I felt like I was getting great service for a fair price.

So incredibly impressed with Mirsky from the very start. When communicating with Matt about the work we needed done and scheduling, he was concise, clear, and friendly. I initially had them come out to replace a few outlets and two light fixtures but Seamus was so incredible that I decided to do a bigger project (replacing can lights, all the light fixtures in the house, and all the switches and outlets) as well. Seamus was professional and courteous.

He clearly explained everything we needed to know. Move a few outlets slighly to cover up small gaps in the wall or have it fit better in a bookcase. Today was the last day of the project and he had an apprentice with him. I overheard (I was on a different floor and have great hearing:) ) Seamus really coaching and helping the apprentice in such a wonderful way.

He gently told the apprentice to focus on doing this correctly and safe and not to try and go as fast as he could. He talked about the industry and how rewarding it is. He even talked to the apprentice about how much he enjoyed Mirsky Electric and how good they are to home owners and their employees. I will absolutely be going back to Mirsky simply from my interactions with Matt but especially Seamus. Hope you all know what a great employee you have! Oh. and all the new lighting, outlets, and switches look great. Its a whole new house!

I really can't recommend them enough. I contacted multiple electricians, and Mirsky was the most responsive and organized, plus the lowest quote! Matt gave me a quote virtually after I sent him multiple photos of the places where we wanted outdoor outlets put in. We scheduled the electrician, and when the day came, the electrician was on time and got right to work. I was even more surprised when the final price ended up being less than the already reasonable quote.

Mirsky is so professional, very organized and reliable and will be my go to place if I ever need any help related to electric problems! I recently had a rental property that required some help/minor fixing.and it took me forever to find someone who can help me do the job. Being a landlord from a far distance, it was quite difficult to find any place that is on top of things in every way such as prompt and professional in communications, organized and reliable, and simply have customer experience in mind to do the job.

Many places I contacted lacked in one or more or even all areas.and a number of them.really looked at my job at simply too small for them. It was a tough job to find a repair vendor who I could trust to do the job I had.until I found Mirsky. Throughout the interaction (which by the way was so painless in communications) with Matt @ Mirsky, I was impressed. Matt was prompt in communications, pricing and timing expectations and was simply very organized and professional in every aspect of the process.

Mirsky recently helped us with a full knob and tube rewire and added recessed lighting in several rooms. The work was phenomenal and completed under budget and slightly ahead of schedule. The team was wonderful and kept us informed on progress thoughout the project. We highly recommend them!

I hired Mirsky Electric for a sizable electrical rewire, panel and service upgrade for my 1950s home. The crew (Grant, Martin, Travis) was very professional, wore masks during customer visits, and kept me apprised of any updates on a regular basis. Craftsmanship is high with Mirsky. For example, electrical rewiring requires drywall cutting -- Mirsky did the absolute minimum to cut drywall so that I wouldn't have to patch too many pieces.

The rewiring was complex but the crew got it done. Martin and Travis were able to rewire the kitchen to my specification including a 240V 50A stove top and additional romex connections for my vent hood. The service panel was upgraded and moved to code. Grant even had the foresight to fish a 50A low gauge wire for an electrical vehicle service equipment (EVSE) for charging my electric car.

Really superb. I called up four electricians to give bids on this project. Mirsky's bid was straightforward and transparent. At the end of the project, they came under budget which is phenomenal. I 100% recommend Mirsky Electric. Smooth sailing with this company.

Mirsky electric came out to run a new electric line to our hottub. these guys answered any questions that i had which i thought was a good service. i appreciate service that is honest and transparent. i feel like they did a good job. Service: Relocate outlets or switches

These guys were awesome. Easy to schedule, professional, did a great job, and the price was extremely reasonable. I cannot recommend them enough.

So, I scheduled someone to come out and give me an estimate. I guess they don't give estimates. I had my older son (old enough to drink) home waiting for guys to come out and give an estimate to change the circuit panel. When they came out they called from my driveway (even though they said they would call 30 min before to allow me to coordinate) and I said I was around the corner and could come home and discuss.

He said if I wasn't him in 10 min he would leave. WTH? Go inside and estimate the work? Didn't even knock on the door and just left. Seems they wanted to coach me into doing the work on the spot. Ahh, not gonna happen. I'm pretty sure they interview multiple people for one position as I plan to get estimates from several contractors for my one job. If they can't respect that or comprehend, then on to the next electrician. Obviously, I will not be using mirsky services. Thanks for the experience and knowledge.

They did a great job installing a new outlet for my EV charger. Very professional, courteous, and safe with mask on the entire time. Matt came in earlier to get an estimate and sent a very detailed and reasonable proposal. He then kept us up to date on schedules. Travis came in for the service. He did it most by himself with little handholding. Overall quality work with very reasonable pricing. And great people to work with. Highly recommended!

All of my experiences with mirsky have been top-notch. Excellent quality work, done quickly. Every time they've been out, it's taken less time than I anticipated, and I appreciate the attention to detail. I'll be using them again any time I have electrical work that needs doing. I contacted this business via their website contact form and heard back from Matt later that same day. We spoke about some wiring challenges I was having with my DIY wall oven replacement. Not only did he tell me which part I needed, he told me how to adapt it to my junction box solution. He also offered me additional advice and asked me to send him pics of the wiring so he could inspect it. His proposals worked perfectly and now we're enjoying our up-to-code wall oven. I'll be calling Mirsky again. Thanks Matt!

I've bounced around a few different electricians for various work while I've had my home, but I've found a company I will stick with for life in Mirsky Electric. I requested a quote and Matt schedule a time to look over what was needed for free -- took 15 minutes max -- then a couple days later I had a very reasonable quote. I gave him some times and we scheduled the work, which was adding a new outlet in our garage, fixing an outside outlet that's never worked and adding two boxes for new outdoor garage lights. Matt emailed me the day before our appointment and said to expect Seamus between 8-9am. Seamus showed up right at 8:30am and was everything you'd want in a professional.

He was courteous, work a mask the entire time, and took extra steps to examine things I never asked about. For example, I wanted two new boxes placed for outside garage lights. He noticed the new light fixtures in my garage and took a look to make sure he was putting in the right kind of box to support the fixture. He also removed and replaced some garage stairs to get access to the panel in the basement.

He didn't need any hand-holding and was able to do virtually everything without much input from me. When he arrived I told him what we were looking to do, he provided some options, we agreed and off he went. Best of all, from a purely financial standpoint, he saved some money versus what was quoted because he was that efficient. I can't recommend Mirsky enough. The other positive reviews were what drove me to consider Mirsky in the first place, and I'm glad I did.

Overall OK service. They definitely know how to do electrical related stuff but if you are detail oriented don't expect much from them. I talked to Mirsky over email and explicitly mentioned that I live in a newly painted house and I want the electrician to do a good job when it come to finish and details. I basically wanted to add two outlets to my bathrooms. Mirsky added the two outlets but the work is not 5 star: 1- The outlet covers do not match my existing screwless Leviton outlets.

They just used whatever they had. I don't have super fancy or special outlets. These can be found in any hardware store. So, this is not acceptable to me especially when I'm being charged more than $30 per outlet for material. 2- They routed the wire for one of the outlets off of an existing outlet. When they opened the existing outlet, they caused some minor damage to the dry wall around the outlet.

This made a gap around the outlet. So, now I have to patch and paint the gap that they made. 3- On the other outlet, they made a bunch of extra (like 20) poke holes around the new outlets to see where to put it (see the photo below after I changed the covering myself to match the rest) I can understand that poking around is necessary but I do expect some sort of remedy for this. I need to patch and paint myself. Overall, OK. I've been spending a few hours of my time to buy the correct covers and fix up the remaining issues.

I've used Mirsky Electric for 3 smaller projects at my house over the last couple of years. I tried them after seeing they had great reviews on Yelp! and I can't see using anyone else after 3 great experiences. Great work, fair and clear prices, and friendly staff. Thanks again, guys!
