Ameristar is really good at building houses. During my framing walkthrough, my home inspector that I hired said it was one of the best framing jobs that he had seen in 30 years. However, that's where my good experience ended and my bad experience started. From the first day in my home, my backyard would completely flood out during heavy rainfall and have several inches of standing water in it.

Over the course of the following year, I had to keep repeatedly contacting Ameristar to try to get them to do something about my backyard, only for them to eventually tell me that they would not do anything or reimburse me for any contractors I hired to fix it because the water receded within 24 hours. They also decided to pick and choose what they were going to fix on my one year punch list.

Most of my kitchen cabinets were hung by only two screws instead of the recommended minimum of 4. The project manager said that he would not fix and "the cabinets weren't coming down." Ameristar would also not fix defects in kitchen countertops or appliances because I didn't mention it when they turned the house over to me. Isn't the point of the one year punch list to live in the house, find issues as you go, and get them addressed as needed?

None of my wooden exterior door thresholds were painted. Ameristar said the painter would paint them, but the painter came and said they don't do that. Unlike the statement on their website, I was not 100% satisfied with their service and felt like I was ignored or left hanging on many occasions.

Ameristar built my home and customized to my specifications. I couldn't be happier with my home. Dan and his staff will go above and beyond to make your experience buying a custom home a wonderful one!

Buy home from Ameri-Star one year ago, awesome job on the home. John got me through very good on request. After settlement home still need some touch up and Joe make it so easy job well done. And they did awesome job for one year service this month. My house look brand new again.

Update #1, four weeks into construction. Communication remains great, from weekly production videos posted to the website to email and texts from John or Julie. When we ran into a the dreaded situation of an agreement that had not been solidified in writing.not only did Ameri-Star honor it.they added a contract addendum the next day to ensure everything stayed above board. So far, we could not be happier.

Myself and the family have been living in our Ameri-Star home for two years now and we couldn't be happier! They made every effort to cater to our needs. From showing us different homes with various floor plans, to making changes me and my wife wanted made to the floor plans to give our new home a touch of our style. The process was smooth and every request was accommodated quickly as possible.

We even received video updates of the progress of the home which was important for me since I travel for work. Dan (CEO) even met with me and my wife to say thank you and to ensure we were satisfied with our purchase Would 100% recommend Ameristar to anyone looking to buy a new construction home in Anne Arundel County.

Dealing with Ameristar Homes was the absolute worst experience. They are driven by greed, using the worst contractors. I have had to switch all of my light fixtures. My ceiling has ripples, they never painted the outside back door frame and it rotted out after 2 years and had to be replaced. The water conditioner has never worked properly, leaving everything yellow.

I would never recommend them to anyone that really cares about their house. Once they lock you in, they will screw you. I'm not sure what they mean by "master builder certified" since clearly they did a very sloppy job overall. I won''t even get into my yard details. FIND ANOTHER BUILDER!

Although our home was built by Ameri-Star, we purchased it from the original owner, who only lived there for about a year. So I don't have any comments on what it is like to buy a home from this builder. What I can tell you, however, is that this is a very customer-oriented company. We have had two issues with the home since we bought it, and the company has been very quick to get their contractors out here to fix them at no cost to us. They definitely stand behind their product and don't give you the run-around on getting repairs done.

I've been looking around for a new home (second time home buyer) and I met with Wendy from Ameri-Star. As a home builder they are amazing. They have a concierge that takes me from start to finish on a home. The upgraded home features you get with most are STANDARD with this home builder. Awesome, awesome, awesome. I'm definitely buying new with them.
