John Cannon Homes

This month is my one year anniversary of moving into my home built by John Cannon Homes, and I'm writing to praise their process, professionalism, and product. I'm thrilled that among the several builders in my community, I chose JCH. I purchased the lot and went under contract to build just as COVID appeared so there were challenges - but throughout the build Nelson, the wonderful project manager, kept me informed and handled everything with grace and good cheer.

This was a custom floor plan as the model plans didn't meet my needs, and from the drawing to the build to the closing, everyone was experienced, professional and competent. I'm thrilled with the home. In the last year I've had to interact with the warranty department (Jamie) regarding minor issues, and it's been a pleasure. I also had an issue with a vendor recommended by JCH (but having nothing to do with the build, it was a post-build issue) and John himself got involved to support me. I'm very happy in this home have no plans to move, but if I ever did build again I would choose JCH in a heartbeat.

Nice way this company treats their animals. Money hungry without a shred of mercy for the animal starving with a burnt face on their land. Refusing to fix the issue and blocking anyone that tries to contact with their concerns on social media. Evil company.

Critical: Professionalism Any company that treats their horses so poorly, denying them the company of other horses and/or humans, shade and food is not a company anyone should consider using! Their horse near Myakka City has a badly burned face and is starving for food, company and veterinary care. Shame on them!

We were in the process of building a home with Evan Grigoli, but we ended up stopping the process due to lack of assistance and response. We brought our concerns to the Director and John Cannon himself via email and they did not even have the courtesy to respond for any follow up. I'm happy we dodged the bullet with this builder and never made it to under contract.

We have been working with John Cannon and his team for several months now to help design our home and are very satisfied with the process thus far. We did not go into the home buying process thinking we were going to build, in fact my wife was quite opposed to the idea of building and the time it would take. We ended up meeting with John Cannon Homes when I called into the office one day to ask if they had any inventory homes available for sale.

I was told they would take a message and have a sales person call me back. Much to my surprise it was John himself who called me back and told me they unfortunately did not have any homes but would be happy to build us our dream home. I told him I'd let him know but we were really set on buying existing. Through his perseverance and thoughtful explanations of the build process we agreed to meet with him and a sales person.

One meeting later and my wife was convinced that building was the best option for us. The hands on approach from John and the strong level of communication with their team has impressed us every step of the way. We are thrilled to see how the final product turns out.

After making the decision to build a new home, my husband and I began the task of meeting with builders. John Cannon Homes was already near the top of our list based on the firm's reputation and it wasn't long after our initial meeting that we knew this was the builder for us. Many builders talk about their team approach, but John's team really listened to our needs and met those needs every step of the way from contract to "keys to the castle".

Our experience working with Amy in the Design Center team was actually fun! Our Project Manager Nelson was always available, answered every question we had and kept things running on time and on budget. We especially appreciated how clean and neat the job site was maintained. JCH hires the best of the best and that is evident in the quality of the construction.

Our home was the first new construction in several years in an established gated community. The construction team was very respectful of the homeowner association rules, our neighbors, and the hours during which they were allowed to work. We highly recommend John Cannon Homes.

We have to say that working with John Cannon homes, has been an absolutely wonderful experience not only for our happy clients, but for us as well. When we bring our folks to the models, Jason has always made them feel special. The experience carries over through the entire process, and John, I can't tell you how much your personal involvement means to our folks.

The design experience which can be overwhelming, is done with patience, understanding and professionalism. My husband and I had a wonderful experience building our new home in The Islands on the Manatee. Jason S. was our first contact when we initially were considering building. He was very thorough in answering all our questions and helping us include in our contract all the items we wanted. He went above and beyond. Our design liaison, Toni did an outstanding job helping us with all of the many selections.

We have been very pleased with all the exterior and interior colors Toni helped us select as well as all of our fixtures. Having Toni and the JCH Design center to go to make all of our selections made the process go smoothly. Darryl Ashby was also helpful when we made a few changes in walls after the building had begun. Don was helpful when we had any questions come up all along the way.

I was in the Corindi model a lot during the building of our home to have as a visual because we built the Corindi with a few changes. We lost our original project manager and Mike Johns came in to take over all the way to closing. Mike does an outstanding job. At our closing with Mike J. John C. stopped by bring gifts which was a nice personal touch. Everyone we have dealt with at John Cannon Homes has been very professional. If we ever chose to build again, we would look to John Cannon Homes.

We are still in the beginning stages of building our house, but the experience, so far, has been exceptional. Our design center consultant made our selection process enjoyable and was always there to lend a hand and give advise. I can't speak highly enough about the professional qualities of this person. We are in the beginning stages of construction and our project manager is also an exceptional professional.

He is always available to answer questions and gives us weekly construction updates with pictures. I feel confident that he will make sure that our house is built with the quality levels promised by John Cannon. So far, we are very pleased with the design center and the construction process.

I have personally known John Cannon for more than a decade. His homes have shown up time and again in the Realtor community and it is always with pride that someone can say they own a John Cannon home. The Buyers I recently helped, decided to build with John Cannon and after several weeks of going through the building process, they let me know that their experience surpassed their expectations.

They felt the project manager is always on top of things and listens to them. The design center experience was also helpful. There are so many choices to choose from and this Buyer felt the guidance they received was knowledgeable and professional. I love to recommend John Cannon Homes. My husband, Paul, and I had started looking for a home in Florida to retire to back in 2006. Since we don't like moving or shopping - we wanted to buy a house that was already furnished and move-in ready. We weren't in a hurry because we were still running our business full time in St. Louis. We've lived in our Missouri home for 27 years, so looking for another house was a real chore.

We never considered building a house for several reasons. We had heard all of the horror stories from our friends that had built homes - delays, over-runs, sloppy work, poor quality construction, plumbing issues, builder liens, etc, etc. We live in Missouri and had no possibility of spending enough time in Florida to build a bookshelf - let alone a house!

Our technology business demands a 24/7 commitment from both of us - including global travel. Building was NOT an option! Until we met John Cannon. He was born to build homes. They each made their part such a simple pleasure and we trusted them completely - from start to finish. It truly was a painless process working with this team of industry experts. We've been in our home for nine years now and we are as happy today as we were when we first walked through those doors of our custom built John Cannon home. You may be able to save a little money by choosing a builder that is less established and is willing to cut corners - but make sure you ask yourself how much you value your peace of mind.
