Beware. Silver Ridge Development (SRD) has unlawfully kept money they owe me for over a year. They have kept my $1,400 deposit and $2,000 in overcharged rent payments for a townhome that I rented in Farmington in 2015/2016. According to my signed, legal contract, my rent was supposed to reduce from $1,500 to $1,300 for the second year of occupancy.
When I noticed that, I asked the office manager and was told it didn't apply to me according to Craig the owner, president, CEO or whatever his actual title of position is. After moving out, I was told at the walkthrough that the townhome was immaculate and I would receive my full deposit back. I found a copy of my lease while packing to move and inquired again as to the $200 per month overcharge for the prior 10 month period.
They said they would talk to Craig. I move out of state and from that point on I have never received my deposit OR the overcharge in rent. I've called several times until the office manager hung up on me after calling me "ignorant". It's now been over a year and my efforts to nicely get them to pay is over and I'm filing legal action. Please be careful doing business with them.
When I lived in the townhome I was actually warned by other neighbors about the horrible problems with dealing with SRD. Some of them had purchased the townhomes and then found issues with the structure and had to also threated to pursue legal action and get lawyers involved before SRD would do what they are legally accountable for. It's a shame they do business this way. If they are the largest growning development company in Farmington NM (as they claim), why the need to steal money from their customers?
