I had someone come out to my house last Friday to look at my basement. I was told by the young man that he would get back to me later in the day with an estimate. I was also told that he would reach out to my insurance claim agent also. Finally, I reached out to him and his voicemail was full. So, I texted him. He informed me that he was with his family and would get back to me. I finally got a call back at 8pm. By that point, I had found another company (Michaelis) to come out and start the work. They were on top of their game and quite responsive.

This was my second time using Hays and Sons for basement restoration. The first time was my sump pump and this time was my sewage pump. Matt Meinsen was my project manager and he made sure everything was done efficiently and in a timely manor. Matt and all of his team and contractors were professional and handled my property as if it was their own.

He kept me in the loop of things and it was all completed in a timely manor. Complete restoration of bathroom, living area, laundry room and bedroom. I would definitely recommend Hays and Sons and Matt Meinsen for any project. This is a trustworthy company that won't take advantage of you. They work hard for you and even go to bat with the insurance company if needed. Money well spent. Thanks Matt, Mo and Sal. I am a happy customer.

At the beginning of my home restoration/remodel, I met with Neil from Hays and Sons very early on and that became the first of many times we would meet and/or speak on the phone or through text over the next 2 years. (2020-2022). I couldn't have asked for a better person to manage all of the needs, timelines, days of impatience, the good days, and everything else.

He stayed in touch with me every step of the way and if there was anything I needed, I could reach out to him and know my questions would be answered as timely as possible. He was very professional during any moments of stress or when having to deliver or have the "good news/bad news" conversations. One thing I also want to add is that he never made any promises or any guarantees that he didn't or couldn't keep.

It's a long and impatient process at times when you're just ready to be back home and he was very appropriate to not even once, give false information just to end a conversation, or get me or my other point of contact off his back, etc. That really meant a lot to me among many other positives surrounding this experience with Neil and with Hays and Sons.

This review doesn't even include all the positive feelings I have about the finished remodel and all the work that went into it. So beautiful. I cannot thank or be more appreciative to all of them for the time and care that went into getting me back into my home. 10/10, Highly recommend.

Everything was professional and easy start to finish. Josh communicated and coordinated everything in a timely fashion. Eli and Trey were efficient and professional during the home visits to complete the job. Would highly recommend!

Hays + Sons came to our rescue when our heat went out. I cannot thank Meg, Grant, and Patrick enough. They saved us a huge bill and got great people to our house ASAP. They truly provided exceptional service when we really needed their help.

After a house flood, extensive flooring had to be replaced along with installing a new laundry room cabinet and sink. The project manager ordered all materials and coordinated all the work done by professionals. Everything was restored to the condition it was in before the floor, only it looks even better than before - new and fresh. Hays & Sons made the whole thing as painless as possible. I would definitely recommend them.

I would give this company no stars if I could. For your own sanity, do not work with Hays and Sons. Disorganized, unprofessional and poor workmanship.

My house was hit by lightning in August, 2019. We hired Hays and Sons to do the restoration. They have been outstanding in every respect: communication, quality work and materials, honesty, efficiency and great customer service! It has been a wonderful experience overall and truly I have been delighted every step of the way as the various experts within the organization have each performed at an exceptional level! Completely unorganized to the point that my homeowner insurance company removed them off their vendor list for the state of Indiana after our experience with them. Our home restoration should have never taken as long as it did. From shabby assessment/ quotes to no-show contractors, work having to be re-done and wrong materials purchased and lack of communication from the project manager.

The only thing they successfully do was continue to badger our family about paying our deductible to them after they already receive over 10k payment in FULL from our insurance company to do the work needed. It's a shame for company to cause as much stress as they did during a time of home loss/ damage. Hays and Sons definitely did not fit the bill and I wish we were able to select our restoration company.

In 2011 a car drove through the front of our home, Hays & Sons was recommended by our insurance company to do the job. HORRIBLE! It is a good thing that I took pictures of everything in my house because they tried to replace everything damaged with the CHEAPEST materials that they could! I had to prove to them with photos that what I had was better quality.

When they were restoring the garage they got paint all over the floor and didn't want to clean up because it was a garage. The drywall repair in many rooms was a joke! It was hung improperly and the finished walls were wavy with seams and bumps, not smooth. I found out that they had people doing these jobs that had no prior experience! The Siding on the house was cut long and is now buckled and wavy.

There is a list a mile long but I think you get the idea. Not only was the job done Poorly but the Boss man who came to check in once in a while was very RUDE and treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about! I also had to prove everything to him with photos. I stayed at the house everyday while the work was being completed so that I could make sure that our insurance wasn't getting charged for things that were either not done or done with inferior quality products. I also want to add that Hays & Sons says that they are a Christian company but the employees do not conduct themselves as so. I would never recommend this company to anyone!

Hays and Sons was sent to my house by insurance after some wind damage. I stuck with them for the repairs which was a terrible idea. The PM was absolutely unprofessional and things kept getting messed up (1. AC drain line was cut (still unsure why.) and it was a "silly mistake" that it wasn't fixed so AC condensation was draining all over my floors. 2.

When they did fix it it wasn't done correctly and resulted in even more water damage. 3. When I addressed said water damage they threw a fit about it until the supervisor finally said they'd give me a $400 credit for the damage. 4. Now I get my final bill and it's up $200+ for something that they "didn't know insurance wouldn't cover until after the work was done" so now it's another expenseAvoid them! Headache after headache and took several months to do a small job.
