One of the oldest companies in the Elizabethtown area, Jenkins-Essex is a fourth-generation family owned and managed business dating back to 1904. That's when Neff Jenkins and William Essex, whose heirs later sold their interests to the Jenkins family, founded the company as a lumber mill located in downtown Elizabethtown. They soon expanded their offerings, not only opening a full building supply store, but also building homes.In those early days, Jenkins-Essex quickly gained a reputation for integrity, hard work and knowledge - principles our company leadership and employees have proudly upheld for more than a century.

As a Construction Manager, Jenkins-Essex Construction brings expert supervision and administration to a project. Acting as an extension of the client's own staff, we bring value to every phase of the construction process. To start, we work with the client's architect to develop plans and specifications, select the systems and materials that meet the client's specs and budget, estimate costs and develop the construction schedule. While the owner holds all individual contracts, we step in to manage those contracts, from the initial bid phase to processing payments.
At Jenkins-Essex, we are proud of our affiliation with Butler Manufacturing Company, the preeminent manufacturer of pre-engineered buildings. Our relationship dates back to 1969, and we have been honored as a Career Builder and a High Performance Builder multiple times by Butler. Butler provides Design-Build solutions and innovative construction technology.
