I'd like to take a moment to report on something extraordinary. My wife and I are artists and both former business owners and we are aware of how difficult it can be to get the kind of service and expertise that we have come to expect, especially in the building industry. We had decided to buy land and build in Pagosa Springs, CO and were lucky enough to find Colorado Dream Homes after several unsatisfying interviews with other builders.

With little knowledge of the process of building a custom home and with an artists concept of what the perfect home might be we were impressed beyond words with the years of building experience and attention to the unimagined detail offered us at Colorado Dream Homes. We found that they have an amazingly good relationship with sub-contractors and venders and we felt that we were dealing with the best possible people throughout the process.

From the beginning they understood our goal and when we faltered in our approach to a construction concept they guided us toward realizing that goal with time proven skill and ease. We are new to the Colorado Rockies and when we questioned the need for 12 highly insulated exterior walls we were reminded that it's possible to reach temperatures of -20 degrees.

We have an open space design and we've lived in our home for almost two years. We are energy efficient and toasty during the winter and remain cool during the summer. This award winning contractor helped us design and build a truly award winning home. When we had a design conflict with our local HOA they helped us solve problems that should not have even existed.

They were totally on our side throughout the process. When it came time to trim a budget they offered successful alternatives that we would never have thought to consider. We've learned that designing and building a home is no small task. Planning for timely delivery of materials, work schedules to keep the job moving, even delivery of appliances was handled with extreme efficiency.

It seemed that no detail was overlooked, even considering that we had no idea just how complex the process could be. From management to office and field staff, including working smoothly with contractors like plumbing and electrical we found the extent of knowledge and professionalism to be far beyond expectations. And yes, we did challenge both plumbing and electrical and they did not even blink an eye.

While Colorado Dream Homes had several projects going at the same time that we were under construction we always felt as if we were their only concern. I'm sure that the other owners must have had the same feeling. Years of experience and the pride inherent in a family owned and operated business is evident and our home, our castle, is a source of pride for us and a constant source of amazement to those who visit us.

I was a demanding businessman and throughout this entire process I had the feeling that Colorado Dream Homes was a partner working with us to achieve our goals rather than a contractor who would slap a roof on a pile of lumber and call it done. To this day we both feel like the folks at Colorado Dream Homes are still proud of the work that they did for us as we are certainly proud of our new home and the ease of life that it provides us.

Update August 2021 - my home is now complete. It's truly awesome. Looking forward to the winter in this extremely well-built mountain home. Having the right builder has made all the difference to me. CDH worked hard to keep my costs down, while giving me exactly what I wanted. They stayed on schedule, kept their word, and delivered me truly the home of my dreams.

Construction started in October, and over the winter, they have stayed on schedule, fought winter weather setbacks, and remained focused - that shows me they care.

I haven't been treated like just another client, as I know they have several construction projects in progress along with mine, yet I feel like I'm number one on their list. Everyone associated with Colorado Dream Homes genuinely wants to make my home 'just how I want it'. It is so refreshing to experience a business that actually cares about people.

Even the simple things, like selecting my tile for instance at the local distributor, was personal. I wasn't told to just go there myself and find what I liked - I was accompanied and made my choices after bouncing ideas around, for there are mistakes I would have made by myself. I am very grateful, and fortunate for this endeavor with Colorado Dream Homes, and can't wait to move in when my home is finished!

My home is the Diamond model, customized. The 12 thick walls, the metal roof, cedar siding - it is exceptional. Colorado Dream Homes won 5 national awards for energy efficiency for a reason. I'm impressed with the attention to detail throughout - from the foundation to the window seals to the framing - all built for energy efficiency and warmth for the Colorado mountain seasons.

Big city/corporate homebuilders could learn something from this homebuilder, namely, service. The entire staff is friendly, honest, and helpful. They stay on schedule. Instead of choosing one of their two-story models, my Diamond model was customized with high ceilings throughout and extra large windows. The customization process with the team at Colorado Dream Homes was a breeze - the process was nearly instantaneous because they use the latest computerized drafting system.

Their years of experience and knowledge of state-of-the-art home features in Colorado is something I never expected to find in this relatively small-town of Pagosa Springs. I will highly recommend Colorado Dream Homes to my friends and family.

One of the finest builders in the Pagosa Springs area. They do what they say. Their construction prices are spot on. Built our home for exactly the original estimate. They finished the job right on time but, the real win here is the construction quality and the design. Our heating bills in the winter are less than half our neighbors. We have owned our Dream Home more than 15 years with absolutely no problems.

If you want an energy efficient home, these guys are the best. After all they have been here for years and know the climate and how to build for it, not to mention great people to work with during all phases of construction and afterwards if you need anything. Great to have a good, dependable contractor who knows this part of Colorado and how to build for the extreme weather we get occasionally.

We walked into Colorado Dream Homes in 2005 for the first time. We were warmly greeted and provided with the different models and information about the building process.fast forwarding through the years (while owning vacant land in Pagosa), we inquired with many neighbors who chose other contractors. One neighbor would tell us they liked their contractor and another neighbor with the same contractor would tell us to never hire him.this went on for years as we inquired about different contractors.

We never heard one negative thing about CDH during the years and met many satisfied and happy CDH owners. In 2014 we made one of the best decisions and chose CDH to build our home. We had one of the best building experiences one could want. The build went smoothly and on budget. We made some changes to the model and CDH made it happen! Our heating bills are significantly lower than others in our neighborhood. We experienced true professionalism, excellent communication and quick responses to minor warranty issues. We highly recommend CDH! You will not be disappointed!

Pagosa Springs has many builders to choose from but wow am I happy we chose Colorado Dream Homes! The entire team and crews were top notch: Integrity, honesty and well organized. We received photo updates nearly every week during the construction and we always stayed within budget. Our lender(in Colorado Springs) was amazed at their efficiency and could not believe we did not go over budget, we were actually $300 below budget and were offered a check. WHAT?

When the house was finished and the snow was piled up and our propane tank was buried they put electric heaters in case we ran out of propane. Once we were able to get to Pagosa to see the house they had the driveway plowed for us. The house itself exceeded our expectations and is so comfortable and warm. I have already personally endorsed these builders to a couple I met that are looking for a place to move to. I could go on and on about this company and couldn't be any happier. We've been in our Colorado Dream home for close to a year now.through all 4 seasons. and we are truly amazed at how energy efficient it is.just incredible! No problem keeping toasty warm last winter or nice and cool this past summer. Low utility bills too! These folks have built literally hundreds of houses in Pagosa over the past 20 some years.this is no doubt one of the top reasons. Debra (CDH owner) and her crew were fantastic to work with during the whole design, planning, and construction phases of our new house.

Even though it was a very busy construction year in Pagosa when we built. Debra made us feel like we were her most important clients. That meant a lot to us. Having a model home as their construction office is a real plus.you get to see what materials, and building methods they'll be using, and also what (many) options you'll have.

We love our custom Colorado Dream Home! This builder provided exceptional communication during the building process and made it fun. They gave us everything we wanted in an economical way while maintaining the low maintenance and extremely high utility efficiency which they advertise. Colorado Dream Homes just finished our beautiful custom home on time and on budget. Debra worked with us from designs and permits through all the many finishing details. Her guidance, informed by many years of experience building in Pagosa Springs, was invaluable, and she was respectful of our choices and budget. CDH advocated on our behalf with suppliers to source the materials we wanted, and they managed their subcontractors effectively to keep the project on track through winter construction.

We have been living in our Colorado Dream Home for nearly 5 years. The builders have let us join their family and shared many holidays with us. That is the type of people they are! We lived out of state for the build and moved in right on planned time. We chose a modified version of the model with many specific requests and extras. The builders were always friendly & courteous. Communication was always timely and effective. We are enjoying our dream home immensely. We find the quality of the build to be exceptional!
