Services
C.J. Miller LLC has a proud history as a family business and are welcoming the third generation into the organization. We are committed to our customer and community relationships as we navigate through future generations of the Company and its team members. Charles J. Miller, Jr. (Buck) purchased a backhoe and started installing septic and sewage systems while still attending high school. With two employees, one full-time and one part-time, and a dump truck; Buck and his crew completed roughly 150 installations per year.
Most businesses think service is the most important thing, but without great leadership and a team who deliver results at a high level, even the best service won't make a company successful. C.J. Miller LLC is committed to protecting the health and safety of our team members by creating an environment where zero injuries is not just a goal, but an expectation.
Clearing for site development in central Maryland varies from mowing to brush hogging to the clearing of heavy stands of hardwood timber or pines. Our team is equipped with everything from massive stump grinders and tree shears to handheld chainsaws. We believe clearing a site quickly, correctly and safely is our first opportunity to transition a project towards completion.

These guys had a deal with Ryan homes to build my neighborhood. They did a lot of the asphalt, driveways, landscaping, and sidewalks and everything they touched looks horrible. Our driveways are cracking apart after 6 months, another company has a crew here now fixing the private drive, and they didn't leave a lick of top soil for the yards when they seeded and sodded.
Not to mention these guys are always hogging up 140 and making it impossible to turn on 97. They work behind our neighborhood at all hours and are just an obnoxious nuisance. They are indicative of the low level of contractor that Ryan homes does business with and the main reason that when we move why we will never do business with Ryan homes or any builder that uses CJ Miller.

Very unhelpful customer service. The girl who answered the phone was VERY rude. I spoke to a manager but don't feel he took my concerns seriously. We used them to clear out woods and brush on abandoned lot and the conduct of an employee there was poor to say the least, rude and included catcalling. In retrospect he might well have been drunk. And has been calling me randomly since then. Do I even need to mention that they left a lot of logs and debris just lying around. Won't be using them again.

The rt 97 resurfacing project has been a dragged out nightmare. They seem to be deciding what to do where by using a casino money wheel. They have been creating new driving hazards on a nightly basis for almost 2 months. You never know where the newest pothole or sudden 2in jump or drop is going to be. Two potholes measuring almost 2ft by 5ft were left in a blind spot for over a month before they paved over it.
Their crews are also littering a LOT. I've been cleaning up a shopping bag worth of trash after every night they work (2-3x per week). Normally I get about a half a bag in an entire week. There has also been a jump in petty theft in the area since they started. There is zero proof any of their employees are involved in that, but it is very suspicious. All in all I will never use or recommend this company.

I would not recommend this company. When my husband and I had concrete work done by C.J. Miller and the work was complete, 2-3 days later several cigarette butts surfaced to the top of the concrete along with some other things. The owner denied that it was his men, but clearly you could see the butts were dropped as they were smoothing out the concrete. Now the concrete is starting to flake off. Paid $8,000 for lousy work. Use someone else!
