Unique floor plans, customer participation and detailed construction meetings are all attributes you will find when building with us. With a large model home center located in the heart of NY's Hudson Valley, John A. Alvarez & Sons is uniquely capable of helping you achieve your home-building goals.
Modular home building is about control - control of quality, timelines, budgets and the site. It's a better way to build and there's no doubt that in the next 5 years we're going to see a huge shift in how construction is done. It's how you integrate materials; how much of it is delivered in completed modules versus pieces and elements.
Manufactured homes are trailers, mobile homes, singlewides and doublewides. They are built to the federal building code called "HUD." Modular homes are only similar in that they are built in a climate-controlled factory. Otherwise, they are very different. Modular homes are built to the IRC building code and your local building department requirements.

Went there last min. to check out some homes. There was no cars in the parking lot and I asked the front desk if I could just look around at some houses even though the sign said by appointment only (which i was unaware of until I drove all the way out there). I told the woman how i had just come from Future Homes & wanted to see what they had to offer.
She flat out said no, didn't even try and see if she could squeeze us in quick. We just wanted to see which home we liked better then would of spoken further with pricing & build options from there. You'd figure after I just came from a competitor they would of been a little nicer to get my business.

Junk Homes. With a name that sounds like you get what you pay. A while back I checked this place out. I couldn't believe what they were asking. I know a lot of these people say Modular is cheaper. Turns out Modular is right where stick-built is. I know this because I'm building my house stick-built below Kingston. If I'm going to pay 250-290k for a modular house. I might as well stick build the same thing and have a product that looks like I can resell for close to what I paid.
