The team at Hill Construction was fantastic to work with on our cabin re-build. Our site was challenging and they had the knowledge and expertise to make it all happen. Thanks to Jeremy, Scott, Eric, Sue, Carrie and Bobby for all their hard work. The craftmanship of their team was outstanding. When an issue arose- which is inevitable- Eric was always calm and able to find a solution that worked for us; I always felt that he was on our side. We are beyond ecstatic with our new place and couldn't be more pleased with the experience we had with them!

I just read Naomi's rating for Hill Construction which is based in Hayward, Wisconsin. I do not know Naomi or her build details but it sounds like there is another side to the story not reflected in her negative review. Our experience with Hill Construction, Jeremy Hill and his staff has been and was exceptional from start to finish and we highly recommend them when you are looking for a high quality and exceptional builder in the Hayward, Wisconsin area.

We started our cabin/home teardown and rebuild the summer of 2020 and finished early summer 2021. We worked with Hill Construction's designer Scott Krueger (who is excellent) as we wanted a modern look with a cabin feel to our lake home. We provided Scott with two photos of a lake home look we liked with a multiple curved roof design. We were limited to our existing foot print as we were building close to the waters edge. Scott did an excellent job in putting into building plans the exact concept we were looking for in our new lake home. Scott, Jeremy, Eric Anderson (our project manager), Carrie Bender (Business Manager) and their entire staff contributed countless suggestions to make our lake cabin special and unique and one of a kind on our lake for us.

From start to finish the communication and workmanship by all of the Hill Construction team was exceptional. This included Jeremy Hill, the front office team (Scott, Carrie and Sue) the cement crew (Roy, Mark and their guys), the framing crew (Rob and his guys), the finishing crew (Don, Tony1, Tony2 and crew) and our project Manager, Eric Anderson who did an exceptional job!

Hill Construction also has an excellent group of sub contractors that they use for the electrical, mechanical, plumbing and flooring and we are very satisfied with their workmanship and suggestions throughout the build process. Jeremy Hill and his team strive to build high quality homes with exceptional craftsmanship for their clients and we were the recipients of their fine work in our new lake cabin/home! Dean & Heide

Our experience with Hill Construction was a very poor one with many, many issues that involved me needing to ultimately manage the project even though we had paid them to do the project management. Jeremy Hill is dishonest, blames others when there are issue and takes no responsibility for anything. On Jeremy Hill's last visit here on July 9th, 2021, Jeremy came fixed the door his worker had damaged and just left without even a goodbye or acknowledgment of the other concerns I had raised.

Here is a list of issues and concerns that occurred over the course of building our cabin with Hill Construction: The most concerning thing that happened during our build is on our very first weekend in our brand new cabin, we had a flood in the basement due to Hill Construction not properly installing our egress window. This led to all of the flooring and part of the walls being completely ripped out and needing to be re-done.

To this day there is still damage to some walls which Jeremy Hill refuses to fix. When his workers came out to fix the egress window and tie it into the drain tile, they said that Jeremy had been told it needed to be tied into the drain tile and he told them it was fine as was. Our project manager quit and the new one had zero information on all of the selections I had made. E our project manager, and Jeremy Hill the company owner promised to cover the flooring once it was installed.

I came up a week after flooring had been installed and they were not covered and had hundreds of pounds of trim and doors sitting directly on the floors. The floors were damaged by them not being properly covered. The trim was originally mis-installed and had to be re-installed correctly. I had to facilitate the entire flooring installation because our project manager was unable to. Greg, me and (a worker) pointed out a gas smell a month prior to Jeremy coming out for the gas smell and Eric shook it off saying it was a vent.

We used 15% of a tank of propane in 1 week due to this, so we would like to be compensated for that since his lack of follow up led to that issue and expense. These requests were completely ignored. For the nose trim- When Our project manager and I met with the flooring people and they said it was normally done with the trim. He agreed and said Hill Construction would do it.

He proceeded to install a very soft cedar wood. When the first damage happened to the cedar stair nose, He said "that is what we always use and it will be fine". After a lot of dispute, they did replace the stair nose but in the process damaged the wall and to this day refuses to fix the wall per our requests. The sink was not installed when counter people came.

Then the sink didn't fit and we had to pay extra for the counter people to come back out, plus we had to pay extra to return and exchange the sink we had. We wanted our ceiling to be knockdown but instead we got flat. The wrong island size was installed in our kitchen. Our deck stair ends are exposed and still need a proper skirt board installed. When we raised this concern to Jeremy Hill he said, " there are lots of ways to do stairs and that is one way." The wrong deck railing was initially installed.

Our screened porch was supposed to have cedar ceiling but it was installed with pine. Our deck poles had issues with 1 not even being attached to the deck and another one was half off of the cement cookie. Most recently Jeremy Hill sent someone out to repair nail pops who was not a professional painter. The worker made the walls look horrible and Jeremy refuses to send someone to properly fix nail pops leaving us with damaged and walls looking worse than before his worker came here.

During that visit, the worker also damaged a door and had to take it back to fix which took Hill Construction 2 months to fix. Beware of the work here, we just built with another builder and can assure you there are major issues in the building process through Hill Construction that do not exist with other builders.

Hill Construction did a complete reconstruction/renovation on our home in Hayward. From the drawing of the plans to the demolition of the interior, to the finishing work, they were responsive, professional, and efficient. The crew was knowledgeable and detailed. The project manager kept everyone's feet to the fire, helped make those tough decisions, and kept us informed of progress. We recommend them highly.

The good folks at Hill Construction saved our generations old island cabin. During the WINTER (think parking lot on the ice and -20 degrees), they were able to complete a total renovation of the exterior, including windows and custom-sized doors. The new low maintenance exterior helps to insure that we will have something wonderful to share and pass down to our children and grandchildren.

This transformation happened while I was living over a thousand miles away, but the communication was excellent by email, phone and text photos, keeping me well informed and connected throughout the project. Special thanks to Mike Egan for helping us to "vision" the project and select materials and to Darrin for his expertise in seeing that the job was completed in perfect order.

We just wanted a simple remodel, but after sitting down with Jeremy we found that there were a few other simple adjustments we could make that could really improve the overall look of our home. We would highly recommend him and Hill Construction for your home needs. They did the job efficiently and exactly to our specifications, and we were really quite happy with the result.
