McCutcheon Construction is one of these firms you chose when you want things to be done with the best craftsmanship, last a lifetime and look stellar. Their knowledge of the best construction practices are unequalled and their expertise in green remodeling is simply stunning. We cannot recommend highly enough.

This company is out of touch with reality! We got a bid for two small bathrooms and a powder room in a house in San Francisco--$300,000! We will use someone else because we aren't insane.

In late 2015, McCutcheon Construction renovated a bathroom and dressing room, and created another large, all-new master bath for us. Not only did they do a fantastic job, but when we had a problem 3-1/2 years later, they showed up quickly to evaluate the issue, ID a solution, and spend 10 days here fixing it -- all @ no cost to us. I can't imagine what it's costing McCutcheon to devote a foreman to this repair project, tear out and replace tile, bring in sub's, for 10 days.

The original project was very expensive, but boy -- when you hire McCutcheon, you get a commitment to a project you'll enjoy for a long time. (Also: I thought my husband was the cleanest man alive; not so. Every single person @ McCutcheon is.)

I've been incredibly impressed with all my dealings with McCutcheon Construction. Michael and Jan, the owners, are generous with their time and very connected and supportive in the community. I've seen a lot of their work and it is extremely beautiful and "high end." I would recommend them without reservation.

While they may have been good in the past, I had a very bad experience with McCutcheon recently, and would not recommend them to anyone. McCutcheon has experienced significant employee turnover in the past few months. All of the members working on my design/build project left the organization very quickly, and without much notice. This stalled my entire project for months, and ultimately, we had to end the project since we had to go back to the drawing board.literally.

When I complained to McCutcheon, all I was asked to do was pay my final invoices and no response was given for weeks. It appears that McCutcheon has been very unresponsive to emails, calls, and general requests, and cannot keep up with their existing clients. Avoid.

They came highly recommended from a friend and we did not know what to expect from a contractor; it's safe to say we were surprised and can confidently say our experience was beyond all expectations and typical service levels. They were kind and patient, talking us through all the options and even going into other areas of detail that wouldn't benefit them (I.e explaining long term items to keep an eye out for). Their work was error free, their rates competitive and fair, and their team polite and professional. What else can you ask for?

Simply the best at what they do! I used McCutcheon Construction 11 years ago to remodel a kitchen and bathroom. They brought the project in on time and on budget. The quality of work was exceptional. I recently used McCutcheon again to add an addition that included a master bath, bedroom and office. They now have their designer stay on as the project manager and that was a big help as we had a great relationship and he (Dan) was aware of every aspect of the scope of work. Dan's knowledge of both design and construction is something one rarely finds when working with a general contractor. Dan was extremely detail oriented, conscientious, and always professional.

There was never an issue that he could not confidently and efficiently solve to my high expectations. He always kept my best interests and satisfaction as his first priority. I had complete trust in his expertise and while I was thoroughly involved in the decision-making, I relied heavily on Dan's input and was never disappointed with it. Dan was always able to hire good sub-contractors to do work on short notice.

All the contractor teams, excavation, electrical, plumbing, sheetrock, stucco, roofing, etc., were top notch! The project was brought in ahead of time and on budget. McCutcheon provided exceptional quality of work with excellent customer service at competitive prices. I very highly recommend them.

Michael McCutcheon literally asked such perfect questions that I had to stop and totally review a project that I'd put before him. As a property manager whose done at least one 9,000 renovation I tend to know my way around contractors and architects. Michael's expertise has shined through (and I haven't even hired him!). I wouldn't have thought to answer the questions he asked; those alone have taken the project in a safer, more professional direction. If this is what he does without even being hired on I'm sold!

What a professional company! Everyone has a nightmare story about dealing with contractors but we were amazed as to how knowledgeable and professional everyone was at McCutcheon's, beginning with Michael at the helm and continuing with Dan Hano and Robert. Our project was one of rebuilding our decrepit decks. After several discussions on options, plans were drawn, permits were obtained and the project was completed with meticulous care and detail. Robert went above and beyond by taking care of incidentals like hanging new light fixtures in difficult to get to places! Now that we found them we are thinking of re-doing our bathroom and kitchen! No need to look elsewhere. We highly recommend them.
