Paul K. Mai founded MaiCo Industries, Inc. in late 1995. It is centrally located in Ellsworth, Kansas. MaiCo's original facility consisted of approximately 50,000 square feet that specialized in built-up rigid frames utilized in the metal building industry. In 2001, MaiCo added on an expansion (50,000 square feet) to our original facility to fabricate multi-sided poles to be utilized within the DOT, sports lighting, wind tower, utility, etc. markets.MaiCo established a level of quality, which is supported by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) certification within the standards, and criteria of a Conventional Steel Structures certification.
Fabrication of welded assemblies in compliance with contract/customer specifications, company policies and/or procedures and American Welding Society (AWS) and American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) standards. Accurate knowledge of AWS standard weld symbols, welding symbols, and standard procedures including fillet welds, groove welds, plug welds, slot welds, spot welds, seam welds, flange welds, stud welds and surfacing welds. Ability to demonstrate required skill levels for appropriate AWS certifications.
As a traffic signal pole manufacturer, MaiCo Industries provides structural supports for highway signs, luminaires, and traffic signals. Our traffic signal poles are custom engineered to provide heavy-duty support for overhead highway signage. These traffic sign bridges and related structures can be built per AASHTO, DOT or other specifications to meet the needs of most current projects. We specialize in traffic signal poles that are designed and engineered to withstand hurricane-force winds, commonly used in Florida.
High mast lighting poles are manufactured for highways, schools, sports lighting, stadium lighting, parking lot lighting, industrial poles and construction site lighting. XHigh mast poles are engineered and manufactured to strict standards for federal DOT highway and municipal roadway lighting projects.
