I am very disappointed with the company. The steel is rusted as are the nails. I didn't realize that my black drive would be messed up. I sent pictures to the company and they told me everything was done correctly and that all had to do is sand it off. I shouldn't be expected to do this. The people that installed it messed my yard up and I was told that was to be expected during construction.

The quality of the building is great! Unfortunately, the absence of any customer service, greatly affected our experience. As well as the finished product. For the size of the investment, you would think they would at least try to fake some interest. The minute the deposit is paid. BLAM. Nothing. Well to be honest, I did finally receive a call back after probably 20 calls, 7 or 8 emails.
This was on month 4 of our 6 to 8 week wait. I thought our sales person was no longer with them. As I said, the quality was great. But, the absolute lack of regard for their customers issues was just the worst. So much so, that I won't use them again

Our order was placed 5/3, no communication no word on our order. I call every week, twice a week and am given the same BS, it is not entered, my order is unable to be located, someone will enter the order and contact me in two days! I've left messages, I have been told messages are given to "someone", no follow up, no return call, no status. This is the most ridiculous unprofessional situation we've ever encountered.

I rarely leave reviews but feel compelled to warn any potential customers of American Steel Carports of Joshua, TX. The design process was very good and they were helpful. However, once they got my $9k, that is when the customer service was nonexistent and the trouble started. The building leaked badly during the first rain. I immediately emailed Karen, my salesperson, with no response.
After a week of waiting, I called and was routed to a lady who took my "complaint". She said they would contact me and arrange for someone to come out and fix. They never did. I called a couple of more times over several weeks. After no response, I had to fix the leaks myself. I spent a lot of extra time and money on the slab to put a notch around the edge so it would be "bulletproof" on leaks around the bottom.
They did not overlap the notch! That is a major failure in construction and shows how incompetent the crew was that constructed the building. I had to add a special "L" trim along the entire perimeter of the shop on my dime. Materials cost me an extra $200 + hours of my own labor on a brand new building! After all that, I fixed the leak along the bottom but one of my two windows started leaking!
After close inspection, they put a piece of trim in backwards and required a ton of window caulk to stop the leak. I fixed the leaks and noticed several places that were badly scratches and dented. It appears that a ladder had fallen over during construction. They used a rough touchup paint to try and hide. POOR workmanship. Do NOT use this company, American Steel Carports of Joshua, TX! $9k Nightmare!

This company raised the price on my building after it was about 75% completed. They blatantly lied about the lead time as well as the final price. I would not recommend doing business with them, find a more honest and reputable company. The communication throughout the process is poor and they will have excuse after excuse why your building isn't done yet, all the while they're holding your non refundable deposit. Do not do business with these people.

I was absolutely amazed at the quality of the building and installers. They were professional and the quality of the install was perfect. Able and his crew rocked it. The order process took some time to get the engineering that we could use but it was a minor setback. The exceeded my expectations and I have high ones -:

Had my 18x20x7 carport installed today. From the salesman (Phillip), to the scheduler (Hannah), to the setup crew this was by far the easiest most streamlined process I have ever had to do. Phillip took His time with me picking my carport, going over colors and explaining differences in different models and features. Would definitely recommend. From start to finish it took about 2 weeks. Very happy.

NEGATIVE STARS IF I COULD! this place was the worst experience I have had with any company ever. They charged me $900 to expedite engineering and it was 2 weeks late! they wouldn't refund my money and then canceled on me FOUR times when it was time to install the unit. When we called to talk to upper management and owners they pretty much told us "sucks for you".
No apologies, nothing. As a business owner, I was astounded at their blatant mistreatment of their customers and their willingness to take advantage of a situation. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!

Very disappointed in this company. From the initial ordeR process and even now 4 months later I still don't have my RV cover and I always have to place the follow up calls, and the service is bad. I'm left on hold for long periods of time, then told another story of why things are not moving forward with zero remorse from the company. Really disappointing.

On October 1st I got online and designed my barn. I called American Steel Carports on October 2nd and went thru the ordering process. I received the invoice that day and made a 10% down payment. The installers of the barn showed up October 14th to begin building my 54' x 20' barn. They worked all day long and returned October 15th and worked for three hours and finished up. GREAT job and EXTREMELY FAST from the day of order to completely finished! Barn looks fabulous and is well built.
I worked with Norma and Deanna from American Steel Carports by phone and these two ladies are absolutely incredible! Very knowledgeable and considerate! The installation crew of three went above and beyond and were very professional and GOOD! Jose was the leader of this crew and I would have his crew do anything- they were great. They took the time when they were finished to thoroughly clean all trash and debris up.
I give the entire process from start to finish with ASCI TEN OUT OF TEN. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone as they will do you a fantastic job! A+++++ to all! Thank you Norma, Deanna, Jose and crew and all at ASCI! I will definitely return for all future needs!

Excellent building and excellent service all along the way. Krystal went the extra mile by contacting our county about requirements and working with us on our needs. The people in Colusa did a great job when a small issue came up with respect to our land sloping a bit. The guys who installed it were here on time and worked very long hours to get it done for us in just a couple days.

Started purchase process online with Gatorback Buildings and they transfferd the contract to American Steel Carports in Joshua, TX to complete the building. ASC made transfer ok but Maricopa County would not accept generic drawings (FREE), so ASC said engineered drawing was available for additional $900+-, that was negotiable Maricopa required 105 mph approved design, plans got upproval.
The building was completed in two days, caulked areas were poorly done, and when I asked for extra caulk, I was refused, the building was totally out of square in both directions making installation of shelving and storage a nightmare. Then after final payment was made a statement on the phone was that the building was only warrantee to 90 mph wind load.

Update, the building is great, passed permit inspection no problems. After such a huge problem with the engineering department the professionalism of the setup crew was a refreshing surprise. They were on time, very friendly, worked very hard, did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. Jaime from the main office in Colusa helped me out with the door and window problem that engineering just blew me off with. I will buy from them again just not an engineered building next time!

Please dont let these people put anything up on your property, I had a garage put up in 2016, the sides began to warp and ruffle, the doors would get stuck or not close. for months and months i called for help, finally after a year later when they said they have a job around here to do they'll look into it. came here changed a panel and a half, this is on a 20' x 30' garage mind you.
Left after they had me to go the local lows because they were not sent with enough ankers, i had to purchase another $50.00 on top of the $10,000.00 they costed me, never got reimbursed, 3o days later same thing happened, and now they try to tell me the warranty is voided, as it is winter, and my thousand dollar machinery is stuck in a rippled wall, and door stuck in mid air, in the winter with snow pouring in.
If your smart do your homework, i did not, i trusted these idiots and im the fool, the workers dont even speak English. As of now i am contacting my news media, and better business bureau. BEWARE OF YOUR $$$

We ordered a carport and paid a 10% deposit on October 30, 2017. We were told that we need to get a permit from our local county. We need plans in order to get the permit. They have our $223 and we have NOTHING. After numerous phone calls and e-mails all we get are excuses. They have our deposit and we have nothing. We are dealing with a local contractor in Coulsa California. They have the money but have not helped us to get the plans from the Corporate office in Texas. I wish we could find another company to buy a carport from.

Absolutely freakin horrible! LIARS LIARS LIARS! They told us WE could purchase and install the carport. But in order to get the plans you HAVE to get their contractors to install the carport. The man we spoke with is Will. 20 minutes on the phone ask him a question and he goes silent. Asked if I had to have one of their contractors build the carport he said "no." So I asked again can I get the plans.silence!
So I don't need their contractor to build it and I can get the plans.but only if I use their contractor! They don't even have contractors near my home! So they can't actually build it! Ed the engineer says he can't give out the plans because it violates a building code but HE can't answer! He doesn't know! IT'S A LIE!
Instead of giving us the building code violation he says "I know." You know what Ed, how stupid you, Will and the rest of your company looks! Their bill of sale says they will mail plans and send out the product! THEY LIED! How can a company be so horrible they can't answer any questions! AWFUL! It is shameful they are even in business! ***Received a message from a Vanessa from the company saying how sorry she was for the lack of communication.
She also tried to convince me that he company lied but when I fired back with a direct quote from engineer Ed she never responded.but how can you when you know your company lies!

BUYER BEWARE! I placed an order for a carport on October 9,2016 and was told 3-5 weeks. After several phone calls and being given the run around on December 6th I was told "not until January". Unless you want to wait an indefinite amount of time for a carport, don't waste your time with this company. Now I have to attempt to recover my $150 deposit from their dealer, which will probably result in a small claims lawsuit.

I ordered a carport through Carports and More. The installation was done by American Steel Caports, in particular the branch in Colusa, California. So I assume American Steel is a subcontractor or under the umbrella of Carports and More. The install was started on August 26, 2016 and completed on August 27th. The product itself is fine, however I had some serious issues regarding several incidences regarding the installation. 1.
On the first day of the installation, the installers parked the large trailer and truck on our driveway that has a fairly steep slope. They did not carry any wheel chucks, so they picked up a large rock from our property to use as a chock under one of the rear tires. In doing so, the trailer settled back a bit and this caused the rock to dig into our asphalt, creating a large hole. 2.
After I noticed this, there was nothing that could be done. I gave the installers several pieces of 4x4s that I had to use as additional chocks. When the job was done on the 27th, they took the 4x4s with them, along with some bricks that I had laying nearby. In essence, they stole this property from me. It is inexcusable that they would travel without any kind of wheel chocks, and on top of that, to take what I gave them. 3.
I had ordered the upgraded anchor bolts at $25 each. During the installation, they used rebar, which they were unable to drill 100% fully into the ground. I asked about the asphalt anchor bolts, and they said the ground was too hard to use them, but they were still going to charge me $200 for the eight anchor bolts, saying that I would still be guaranteed up to 90 mph hour winds.
I called the local office in Colusa, and after talking to the office, the installers went ahead and installed four of the anchor bolts. I shouldn't have had to through the office to get this done. I felt the installers were trying to cheat me and cut corners on the installation. 4. Regarding the damage caused by the rock chock. I received an estimate to repair it in the amount of $385 by the person who put in our driveway.
I worked with someone at the local office and the best they would offer me is $200, and ignored by request to be remibursed for the full amount. Can't understand why they would only offer to pay $200 of the $385 repair bill, as it was 100% due to the negligence of the installers, especially since they also took the wood I gave them as well as taking some bricks that I had.
I just received a check today for $200 but and still not satisfied, and wrote the corporate office. Ironically, my first email to their "Complaint" email came back as undeliverable. Guess they don't want to hear about any complaints.
