We demolished our old deck and we're looking for a company that could replace it with some sort of enclosed gazebo or screened in deck area. Someone came out within a week of us calling to set up an appointment. We went through the details of what we wanted and were told we'd get sketches of some ideas in a week to a week and a half. We didn't hear back for a month, but figured with COVID there might be some slow downs.
After a month had passed, I left a message since the phone call went right to the company's answering machine, but didn't hear back. Called the designer who had originally come out about a month after that, but also got sent to voicemail. Six months later and another two messages and still no response. Apparently they did not want to work on such a large project.

I scheduled an appointment for an estimate to replace our existing pergola with a covered deck. The soonest available appointment was a month out. The morning of the appointment I received a call from Diane who told me their company doesn't do projects like mine and she couldn't help me. She didn't want to make the drive from palatine to Clarendon Hills to even look at our project. We've been holding off on hiring another company because we were waiting on this appointment. Would have been nice to know a month ago that they had no interest in taking on our job. Horrible service.

I was excited about my new deck thinking I was going to get quality for the $15k I spent in January 2020. The wood quality was inconsistent - some boards beautiful and some subpar (jagged, splintered, etc.). Some are twisting and nails are falling out. I have sap seeping through a couple. When I asked for help with the issues on July 3rd, they said a particular person would get back to me. I've emailed many times since then without an answer. It's now August and I'm really disappointed in the quality of their product and customer service.

We had a great experience with this company. Diane was very helpful in designing the deck we wanted to replace and answering our questions. We used gray Trex decking in island Mist with white contrasting trim. It came out beautiful! The carpenter worked really hard with some very long days and my boys had fun watching him and his crew through the window.
The project took awhile to get started because there were others ahead of us and lots of rain but we were made aware of this. Tammy and Cristina at the office kept us informed of the status of the project. We are happy with the price and quality of the work that was done. It was well worth the wait and we look forward to using our new deck in the spring/summer.

Woodridge came in and did a great job finishing our deck replacement after the initial contractor failed. Woodridge provided excellent project manager communication, worked per agreed schedule, and did excellent quality work. Workers were skilled, efficient, and courteous. We would recommend Woodridge to anyone looking to pay a fair price for quality work.

I will post pictures next spring when my deck and porch are set up. Love these guys. They did a fabulous job on my deck and did exactly what I wanted on my screen porch and were pleasant to work with. I had five other estimates, and no one could do what I wanted, and these guys did. David and his crew are master craftsman. And Diane is a wonderful designer and will also help you with some landscaping ideas if you ask.
The estimates I got varied by $27,000 among the five. These guys fell somewhere in the middle but did an excellent job at what I consider a fair price for the work and materials. If you want a contractor who actually does what they said they were going to do Woodridge deck and gazebo are who to use.

Woodridge tore down our old wooden deck and replaced it with a new Trex deck. The finished product is very good, Didn't quite fulfill the timeline that was promised/expected, however with a project like this, i don't think things typically stick to schedule. Chris was nice to work with as our project planner, and the carpenters worked hard and were friendly.

Unfortunately I can't comment on their design ideas or estimates as we never got that far. Carmen who took the appointment wrote down incorrect address information and the rep never showed up. When I called in about 10 minutes after the appointment to check status I was told they had to cancel because he already was onto his next appointment.
I guess they weren't going to spend more than 5 minutes with me and it was presented as my fault instead of their office who wrote down incorrect information. It's a shame as I have a 1200 square foot deck to do which would have been a nice sized job. If they can't get an address right which was submitted online, I can't imagine going through a deck building process with them.

We needed to build an extension to our existing deck. I got a few quotes and decided to go with Eric and Woodridge Builders. He was not the lowest price, and admitted that he wouldn't be because hiring a one-man carpenter would probably be cheaper. However, we thought his price was reasonable and that it was worth a little more to have the design drawn out, the permit taken care of, etc.
He also did what he could to accommodate our target price. Eric knows his stuff and was very helpful throughout the entire process. For example, the existing water spout was in a location which the deck extension would have covered up. The other contractors we met with suggested using a trap door to get access to the spout. Eric was the only one who suggested that it would be easy to move, and we definitely preferred that.
He was able to move it 10 ft, and get it away from the deck so we don't have to deal with a trap door or a wet hose sitting on the wood. There was one minor issue with the deck stairs that we asked his guys to fix. Eric said it was no problem and it was fixed almost immediately. It is often hard to find a contractor who is trustworthy and provides good service. Eric and his guys were top notch and I'd definitely recommend him.
