We recently purchased a VERY expensive piece of equipment from Akins. Dan Akins was our sales person. They were great to work with until after we paid for the machine and had problems. They will not return phone calls or emails. I have had to hound the manufacturer for assistance. So disappointed in my experience. It gives the manufacturer a black eye and makes me steer away from their other equipment (SCM).
I am not condemning SCM because it appears to be well built machinery but this dealer is worthless and full of you know what. Many unkept promises associated with this transaction. I absolutely would not purchase equipment from this dealer unless you don't care about follow up support. I would give zero stars if it would let me.

Spent over $1100.00 on moulder heads on their auction. Sent them prepaid shipping material to get them here. Wanted to include expanding foam and bags to secure the heads in the boxes. I was told "we use bubble wrap". (keep in mind these are steel heads.after bubble wrap collapses you have nothing). Not surprisingly, that approach was a fail and the heads still have never arrived even after 5 months.
When I call to check if/when they shipped I am actively blown off.ducked and dodged. Was even told by a staffer "Live and learn". They earned a 1 star review.because zero stars wasn't an option. I'd say dont walk. RUN! There are way too many reputable, reliable tool sources out there to settle for this kind of experience. Thumbs down.

I bought a new SCMI 410 from them sight unseen. They told me it was the best choice in that price range ($10K) but they didn't keep any around for customers to look at. I have had nothing but trouble with this machine from day one. They sent a tech out to tweek it after it was set up but after that it still never worked well and they want to charge me a minimum of $1000 to send a tech to fix it. Its a terrible machine and they do not stand behind what they sell!
