I cannot say enough how lucky we feel to have a partner in Knight Construction. We are DIY people but there are projects that are just too big for us and Gary leads us effortlessly through prioritizing projects, planning, designing and executing (with transparency!). Kristen Peck provides impeccable design consulting - she gets us better than we get us. Her ideas are amazingly unique and creative.

I am a long time "old" customer of Gary Knight, Knight Construction Design, Inc. so of course when I needed new windows for my 30 year old house in Maple Grove I chose Knight Construction Design Inc. Again, they were fabulous to work with. His team was here when they said they would be and got the job done. They cleaned up each day and the project was completed when they said it would be.
I had 13 openings including a patio door replaced. This was a replacement rather than an insert which then needed to be finished and stained. The stain matched perfectly to the rest of the woodwork in my home. I also want to mention that the windows were measured and made so that my current window blinds would fit, therefore no need for new blinds and window treatments.
To me that was another huge benefit. I would recommend Gary Knight and Knight Construction Design, Inc. to anyone that needed any type of remodeling or construction. They are good people. Gary will always make sure you are taken care of and happy with your project.

We did a major remodel with Knight in 2003, that included a 16x20 addition and a totally redone. kitchen in granite and maple. We had our own design person for that project, but Knight and his subs did a superb job of execution and we enjoy every bit of it to this day. A few months ago, we needed to replace a steam shower enclosure, and went with Knight again, resulting in a gorgeous tile steam shower with glass doors.
While this project was in progress, we found that the base of our upstairs shower stall was leaking and needed full replacement, and that was added to the project, with timing such that we always had one shower to use. You want contractors/craftsmen who are proud of their work and happy to show you their progress, and that is what we had with both projects.

It was a pleasure to work with Knight Construction during our recent home repairs brought on by hail damage. From the start, Gary took charge and did exactly what he said he would do completing the task on a timely basis with contractors who were pleasant professionals. Any questions or concerns Gary personally handled with a sense of urgency. Would highly recommend and will not hesitate to hire for future jobs.

We had a great experience with Knight Construction and would recommend them to anyone. We've done a several constructions projects in the past which have ranged from small to extensive remodels as well as the construction of an entirely new home. During this time, we have utilized three different contractors for the work and would happily choose Knight for any of our future project needs.
We appreciated Knights attention to detail, their ability to stay within our deadlines and the willingness to offer us alternatives to meet our budget needs for unexpected items. You can tell Knight takes pride in their product as they only worked with reputable subcontractors that also paid attention to detail and backed-up their work. Like many projects, we had two instances during and after our project was complete in which we noted minor items that needed to be addressed.
Without hesitation, Gary Knight and his team were at our home within a day or two to remedy the fix. Our home is our biggest investment and Knight Construction treated it with great care. If you have a remodel project we would highly recommend you consider Knight as your contractor.

Knight Construction was a pleasure to work with. We had extensive hail damage from last fall (siding, fascia, roofing, gutters) and Gary worked diligently with our insurance company to get everything covered including things originally missed by our adjuster. His patience and understanding was wonderful as it took quite a number of times back and forth to get things ironed out. He also sought to keep me up to date on work schedules, answer any questions, and rectify any issues that came up as quickly as possible. Thank you Gary.

We love Knight Construction! Gary and his team replaced our roof last Fall. They were courteous, honest and timely in their repair. We had a slight hiccup in the repair with incorrect skylights being delivered; however, Gary and his team made sure to correct the situation as soon as possible and kept in constant communication with us. They went above and beyond the call of duty. We are considering a renovation this Spring and Knight Construction will be on the top of our list for contractors.

We feel victimized by this company. We saw all their great advertising photos & reviews, but the quality of service & work we received was very & inexcusably poor. At the start, Knight installed a window without a permit (we found this out later by accident), then left the interior wall unfinished - no drywall - for weeks. After our continued calling, Knight sealed the wall, but did not insulate around the window or use a proper vapor barrier.
They admitted to us about the lack of insulation - the contractor claimed it wasn't necessary. The plastic that they used for the vapor barrier was hanging down from behind the drywall & in front of the window, so we saw it for ourselves. Knight's "vapor barrier" was a plastic as thin as a vegetable bag from the grocery store. It came from a box, still in the room, marked "Painter's Drop Cloth." The contractor's explanations about all this felt wrong & made no sense to us.
We called the city building inspector & asked for their help & that is when we found out that Knight had performed the work without a permit. The city told us that we, the homeowners, would ultimately be held responsible for the unapproved work. The city claimed that they would not chase down the contractor. Once a permit was pulled, though, they could hold the contractor responsible.
The president of the company lost his temper with us after we told him that we had spoken with the city. Knight quickly got a permit, redid their work to the city's satisfaction, but then Knight did shoddy finishing work of the inside wall & that is something that the city could not help us with. Knight mudded in long strips of blue painter's tape used to "protect" the trim on an adjacent window, used the wrong wood trim board around the new window, plus installed it leaving large gaps of space between the trim & the wall, gouged areas of the fresh mud, & refused to repair it or do the finish sanding & wall priming to be ready for us to paint as per our agreement. Plus, they broke their promise to replace the new screen they tore during the window installation. Knight got us back good for calling the city.
We ended up hiring another company to correct Knight's work. To Knight - How much money did you want to save yourself in permit costs at the start? Was it really worth what you did to us? We wanted & expected quality work as advertised, not a malicious backlash for catching something that you should not have done in the first place. Photos are in our public Goggle album.
