His house plans have been used by builders and home owners throughout the country. His 25 years of experience as a home builder gives him an advantage over other designers letting him to envision and eliminate many construction issues before they ever occur. Max's work history includes engineering, architecture at John Wieland Homes, C.O.O. of StoneCo Development, and C.E.O. of Max Fulbright Designs. Max is experienced in all styles of architecture and building, but he specializes in Mountain and Lake Home Design with Craftsman Details.Max Fulbright Designs offers custom design services. We can work with you to create your dream home in person or long distance. Many of our custom designs have been successfully completed using phone, email, and fax. Max interviews each home design clients and listens to each customer as they describe their wish list, perfect home, and preferred home style. Max then provides home elevations and floor plans that are unique to each home design customer. He designs your house plans with the builder and the budget in mind. Max and his wife Sherrie were high school sweethearts and have been married for 28 years. They have six wonderful children, 5 dogs, 3 cats and 2 ducks.

I found Max's work on Pinterest while searching for inspiration for our to-be lake house. When seeing the homes, I assumed the images I found were examples of unattainable designs. To my pleasant surprise, I emailed him and he responded within a few hours! I cannot believe that we are getting a dream-pinterest style home by the architect himself. Working with Max has been nothing shy of professional and so easy, considering we live thousands of miles away.
We had a lot of set-backs and restrictions due to being on a lake, so we chose to get a custom design. His communication is incredible, and was extremely patient in working with us to make sure we get everything we want. I am so happy I found Max, I would recommend him to anyone looking to build their dream home!

Max has amazing plans to begin with. But we wanted to modify the Asheville Mountain plan and were just tickled to death with how fast, Max was able to turn around our changes and how well he captured our desires - from just a few phone calls! We live in Asheville, NC and are building on a lake nearby. We are so excited to see Max's vision coupled with our additions come to life.
I'd recommend ANYONE looking for a great Lake or Mountain plan to talk to Max FIRST. You can hire a local architect and spend a ton of money, but you won't get a better result. Max builds the homes he designs, so they WORK. not just look good on paper. Thank you Max, for giving us the opportunity we've been waiting years for.

Truly custom homes start with creative and innovative designs, and architect Max Fulbright does a wonderful job balancing appeal with practicality, with interesting elements that set his plans apart. Among other favorites is the Blue Ridge - one of the homes we're building right now.
Our homebuyers love the great use of space, and we love the artistry. The 20'x15' Family Room is one of the best designs we've seen, and the 11' ceiling really clarifies the space, without requiring a vault or two story. The master suite offers great balance between the spacious bedroom, bath layout, and the very usable walk in closet. So many architects shortchange the master closet, but it is very well designed in this plan.
The drop zone right off the kitchen is perfect, and the "full height" Bonus Room is a huge plus! As for curb appeal, the gables, eaves, and porch are beautifully balanced. We love working with Max. He jump starts the entire custom home build process, with attention to detail we can trust. He's extremely responsive and informative when we talk with him about his plans, and always look forward to seeing what he come up with, next, as he continues to create wonderful homes. We highly recommend this architect.

Max has great home plans. More importantly, you're not "alone" in this process. Max has been incredibly helpful and quite accommodating as we embark on our third building endeavor in 8 years! Who does that??!! Well, we do..and with Max, we feel as though we have a great resource on our side. Ill tell you, I'm blown away thus far by the "effort" Max has exhibited in efforts to help and make us happy. On the fence? Give Max Fulbright Designs a chance. We did and are incredibly thankful we did.
