Fabrication
Report
After a long journey, the block finally reaches at a fabrication facility so that it can be cut into slabs. Not much has since stone entered the homes of the ancient Greeks. What has changed dramatically over the years is the type of machinery used in this age-old sequence. Three basic types of machines are involved in the fabrication process: saws, polishers, and routers. Saws perform several functions during fabrication. A block saw, cuts the massive stone blocks into slabs. These days, diamond wire saws make short work of this task. Modern technology has produced a new type of saw utilizing water jets combined with an abrasive material, which cuts edges and holes quickly and smoothly, and many fabricators are upgrading to these machines.
After VMC selects the best slabs, then is time to bring the samples to the client and have them browse to a variety of selections. Once the stone, color and pattern have been selected by you the client, then we will setup a time to go into the locations of the project, residential or commercial to make the necessary information to start the process of building a template. Quartz
Report
Quartz countertops are man-made engineered stone countertops formed by combining around 90 percent ground quartz (a natural hard mineral) with eight to 10 percent resins, polymers, and pigments. This forms a very hard granite-like surface. Since quartz is a manufactured product, it has a much wider range of colors to choose from and the finished appearance is rich and luxurious. Beauty isn’t the only thing that makes quartz a popular countertop material though; quartz surpasses many natural stones on the market due to its durability and natural sealant. Being a natural stone, granite can withstand very high temperatures with no effect. Quartz however, is made with synthetic poly-resin materials and if the quartz countertop is light in color, the resin can discolor with extreme heat. While quartz is quite durable, using trivets for hot pots and pans is highly recommended.
Granite
Report
Granite stone is naturally quite rough and textured, but when it is ground and polished during the countertop manufacturing process, it takes on a smooth surface with a rich luster. This type of stone can help elevate the design of any room to the next level. However, it’s unique and beautiful appearance isn’t the only reason for its popularity. It is also strong and durable which makes it resistant to scratches and is heat resistant. In addition, when properly sealed, it can resist stains, spills, and fading so you can enjoy its natural beauty for a long time. Did you know that there are more than 300 different types of granite and no two slabs are alike? Selecting the right color might be difficult, but choosing the right company is easy. Marble
Report
Marble is a natural stone, so it's more resistant to scratching, cracking and breaking than many other available countertop materials? In spite of its durability, marble is softer than granite, so it's possible to incorporate attractive design elements, such as fancy edges, during the fabrication process. The natural glow from marble is perfect for adding brightness to kitchens or bathroom with little natural lighting. Since marble is a natural stone, it is more resistant to scratching, cracking and breaking than many other countertop materials. Marble has been used as a building material for a very long time, so its ability to withstand the test of time is well documented. When it’s installed by an Expert such as VMC and properly sealed and maintained, you can expect to enjoy the beauty of marble for a lifetime.
Quartzite
Report
Quartzite Is a stone that causes a level of confusion surrounding the difference between Quartzite and Quartz in relation to countertops. The first ting to point out is that they are two completely different stones. Quartzite countertops are produced using natural, porous stone that is cut to exact dimensions. Quartz countertops are engineered stone that is molded into custom shapes. Quality examples contain more than 90% loose quartz, with the remaining 7% being resins and other materials. Although quartzite has a similar appearance as marble, its durability is as strong as granite. Quartzite is also resistant to deteriorating from acidic foods such as lemons and tomato making it the perfect countertop.
