12-2014 Update: Now I see that Bob Larson is posting online (@ Google reviews) that he never did work for me "Larry Koogs" - when he knows exactly who I am. Personal email monikers often use nicknames (as mine does) - he is completely aware of who I am as even the BBB complaint/review thoroughly identified me. Can't imagine why he would now say he never did work for me. hmmm?
My Original Review from April 2014: I had Robert G. Larson rebuild my chimney last summer. At first Bob, was real polite, but then turned unprofessional after completing the job and getting paid. Initially, his cleanup was a joke - he never put a tarp down so a lot of chunks of old mortar fell into the landscape rocks and had to be handpicked out after discovery of the issue by my wife and I (we weren't going to make a big deal about this, but after what happened later it all makes sense).
Then we saw that the flashing around the chimney & roof was badly done. My building contractor said he would grade it a D-minus. I asked for this to be taken care of, but Bob Larson said he didn't see anything wrong with it. Then as the mortar cured we began to see white smearing on the face of the bricks. I called Bob & asked him about it and he said it was moisture leaching out through the brick from my furnace.
I explained that the furnace & water heater vent has a steel liner (as required by code) & can't leak. He got frustrated & said he didn't want to take the time to explain it all to me. He ended up just giving me the brickyard number & hung up on me! I have never complained online about anyone before, but this guy is so bad I had to do it in this instance.
In my opinion Bob is unprofessional and backs up his work by just saying that he doesn't see the problem. It is a waste of money & time dealing with someone who will just hang up on you when you are trying to find out what went wrong with the project.
