We had to replace our old wooden deck this year, and decided to go with a composite deck from Valley of Wisconsin. Working with John & his team was seamless, from design to construction. As soon as weather permitted, his guys were here tearing down our old deck and starting construction on the new. It was mind-blowing how quickly they worked, and seeing the difference in the construction quality between the old & new deck was amazing. We have been spending every day outside on our new deck and couldn't be happier!

Met John at NARI show a few years back. Got brochures for composite materials and talked with John. Finally got around to redoing some porches, patios, and a balcony which I wanted to do myself, but I needed materials. Originally checked out all the big box stores, but was not real impressed. Everything was special order anyway. Dug out my brochures and stopped in at Valley of WI.

They have a HUGE selection of composite, all the major manufactures with tons of colors! They even let you take as many samples as you need to make sure you are happy with colors/texture, etc. Talked with John again. He spent A LOT of time discussing my project with me, including suggestions, color combos, etc. They have their own install team, but he knew I was doing it myself and answered all my questions on multiple occasions.

I was very impressed. Once I figured out what colors and material I wanted, I just emailed John the codes and # of boards in specified lengths, and I had them within a week! John helped me determine fasteners and took care of all of that too. I actually went a completely different direction with my project after seeing samples there (mock ups of decks) and talking to John.

Wound up doing 2 colors with picture frame border. Looks great! When I went to pick up my materials, they were too heavy and long for the vehicle we brought. When I could not find an alternative and suggested renting a U-Haul, John told me to not worry about it and he would drop it off with the truck when he had time. Turned out it was the same day in the afternoon! Talk about customer service! Would recommend them to anyone looking for composite! Thanks again John!

One stop shop for choosing deck materials. They had many demo decks to get a feel of traction along with lighting options. The owner John was available to answer all our questions. He has been in the deck biz for over 50 years and obviously was very knowledgeable.

I was referred to Valley for a deck and was sold on the quality and professionalism that they operated with. John did a great job designing and recommending options to us. We had a few difficult things pop up and a constrained timeline and Valley did everything we asked and more. One of the main things I noticed in comparing various decks is the specialization that they have in getting the job done.

I know a number of people that have used other companies or gone it the do-it-yourself route that are still waiting to complete the job or can't get materials. You get what you pay for and if you try to cut corners it will show. Valley doesn't cut corners, they deliver a great product and great service.

Great company I found by listening to John on the remodeling Show locally here on 1130AM WISN. Visited the Valley Showroom and soon learned they were the premiere deck builders here in town. New decking products were introduced with many optional choices I didn't know existed. Great design work options were also provided along with costs. I could tell this company has been around for over 50 years from their knowledge shared and by my end product which was nothing short of spectacular. Pricing was a bit more than others I talked with but was well worth it. Scheduling was fair considering the Wisconsin weather. I definitely would use and refer Valley anytime!

John was very responsive and creative. This is the first deck project my wife and I have ever done and John was great in walking us through the process and providing ideas. His team was phenomenal in the construction process as well. Rick was the head for the construction process and he did what he said he was going to do when he said he was going to do it; especially considering weather and inspectors as variables in the process. I would use Valley of Wisconsin again in a heartbeat and recommend them to anyone. Thank you Valley for the excellent experience and beautiful deck!

I am having Valley of Wisconsin replace my current deck. The project is almost completed and John as been extremely responsive and customer centric. I've dealt with many contractor both personally and professionally & found John and his crew to be in the top 10%.

Valley did our new custom upper deck using the Timbertech Composite Decking, Handrails and Lighting. Outstanding deck design and installation. Addressed all our concerns and challenges. John Poulakos produced all the design ideas and worked with us throughout the project and was very easy to work with. Valley also came highly recommended and we also noticed their A+ BBB rating which is impressive for a company in business for over 50 years. Deck parties are on the way!

Top quality work from a company that uses excellent quality products. Very fair price. Working with the owner was a pleasure and his crew were talented craftsmen and very efficient. Recommend without hesitation.

John and his team did an outstanding job installing our new composite deck. Very responsive and attentive to our needs, even after we added some additional work scope. Highly recommend Valley of Wisconsin.

I scheduled an appointment for John to quote my deck. He arrived on time (I had a different contractor over that I needed to finish with so I asked he give me 2 minutes), I showed him the deck and my ideas and all he said was ok. He seemed very aggravated with me for the entire 5 minutes he was in my house (all I could of think of was that I made him wait 2 minutes but aren't I the customer who is willing to pay thousands for a deck?) John asked me no additional questions and didn't care to know what color I wanted or any additional details.

A few days later, he emailed a courtesy email letting me know he would not be bidding my project. I replied asking for his reason and received no response. A few minutes later he viewed my Linked In profile which is creepy if you ask me. Honestly, I don't know his reason for not wanting to quote my deck. Timeline, price, etc was not an issue. He just flat out did not want to work with me for whatever reason.

His customer service is non existent - if you are looking for someone who is eager for your business, this is not the guy. Trust me, there are many deck builders out there. I work with contractors for a living. I will spend my thousands of dollars elsewhere and give them a 5 star review.
