We just bought our house and the condenser was stuck between the house and a fence with barely an inch to breathe. There was more than 10 degrees difference between downstairs and upstairs. The Besco team came out and gave us multiple options to move it and replace for more efficiency. The next week(!) they came and replaced and moved all in a day. The team was kind and helped answer any questions. Our house is now even in temperature and the AC unit is so quiet! Thank you!

Our whole condo building has had the worst experiences with this company. I suspect they intentionally create issues just so they can keep coming back to quote on issues but never actually fix them. Ultimately we had to hire other companies to fix their "work" and one of our issues we solved on our own with a simple YouTube video.

We moved from a townhome in the city to a house in the suburbs last fall. Besco does our furnace and AC care. They are knowledgeable, thorough, fair and nice. Roberto recently checked the AC. He was particular helpful because he took extra time to explain the details of his inspection/work. Also, he helped me better understand how the system runs in our new home. Very good learning for me. Roberto is great!

Installers were on time and very professional. They took the time to clean up afterwards. Aldo was very polite and courteous. He took time to explain the operation of the entire system with my wife and I. He had everything he needed to complete the job the first time out. Steve came out to check on the heating system in my North side condo, which had no heat. Bad news! The blower motor is shot on this low-end, almost 20 year-old furnace. Good news! Besco scheduled an estimator to come out the next day. Setting up appointments was easy. I got confirmation texts and calls. So why not five stars? Testing the thermostat required replacement of two AA batteries. Steve didn't have any fresh batteries, although thermostats with batteries are very common. Steve improvised, using batteries from his flashlight-and almost forgot to take them back. I'm quite satisfied-so far.

I cannot explain how much I have loved the Besco team. They have been incredibly responsive to my A/C, furnace, and water heater replacement project. They knew exactly what I needed, and installed my new system quickly and professionally, while managing covid-driven equipment shortages. When one of the components failed under a recall, they moved heaven and earth to find replacement parts and get the work done. We had good experience with Besco. We had two furnaces and two air conditioning units installed by them for our 115 years old house. We had few other quotes but Besco pricing was the most reasonable. Our sales rep Mike was very responsive with all the questions we asked in a timely manner. We also needed to get a trim removed in order to put the new furnace into our attic and Mike was able to get us a handyman to do the work who was able to work around the scheduling. Installing two furnace and air conditioning units took one full day.

There were 2 crews (4 techs total). All four techs were nice and answered all questions we had. They showed up around 730am and worked til 6pm. No complaints and the systems are working fine. We love their warranty on product and labor. Not many companies offer this great warranty. The one thing to note is we had a very minor gas leak from one of the joints in one of the furnace the next day. We called Besco and they sent someone the same day to address the issue. The issue has been resolved.

My wife and I bought a 100-year old bungalow that has required several updates, including installing a new boiler and hot water heater. A family friend referred Besco and I'm so grateful - every person I've interacted with at Besco has been exceptional. Mike was responsive and courteous when providing quotes/options, Paul and his crew did a great job with the installation, and Rob was personable, thorough, and reassuring during service calls. I will only use Besco moving forward - you will not regret doing the same.

Spoke on the phone in detail about exactly what we needed done. She told us no guarantee they can do the job and for after hours service $150 just to have a look the first 15min. Desperate with no heat, we agreed because the job was simple plumbing. The tech showed up and told us his company doesn't do this type of work and to call a plumber.

They obviously don't review their notes because we told them EXACTLY what we needed and they agreed to come have a look, had they read the notes they could have called us to tell us they can't do the job. The reception obviously doesn't know what services they provide. Still had to pay $150. Expensive and their policies make it easy for them to stick it to the customers. Use a business that knows what services they provide before they overcharge you just to send someone out.

Excellent all around. We hired Besco to install two mini-split units with heating and cooling in our 110-year-old house. Everyone we met with was polite and professional. The installation team was early each day and everything was installed on the timeline promised, on the exact budget promised. Strongly recommend.

Joe Pedota, of Besco Air, has consistently provided to us excellent and responsive new installation, service and suggestions for improvements to our complicated HVAC system for an old home in Evanston. Not only were their prices competitive or less than 2 other outfits (have purchased 1 furnace and 1 AC unit from them for 2 separate properties), but there was no baiting/switching and everything very straightforward as described. Joe went above and beyond to analyze and suggest ductwork routing errors and sensor/control issues that have plagued our house for 20 years.

We have used in the past numerous HVAC companies for properties in Evanston and Chicago and now know the difference between a conscientious customer service oriented company and the others. Highly recommend.

Besco damaged my outdoor A/C unit when moving it and is refusing to repair. Machine now rattles and this is verified by their technician. Their solution was to charge me for a brand new motor on a 5 year old machine. Jim, the owner, would rather worry about saving a buck than taking ownership for his crew's misfortune. First and last time customer.

Used Besco for my hot water heater. The communication was quick, efficient and they were available at short notice for an extra cost. They use a text message system which confirms appointments and allows you to know what technician is coming to your house. Safety was at the front of their mind. Would recommend.

I called this morning to schedule someone to come out because my A/C isn't working, and was told they have someone in my area today. I told them tomorrow was preferable but then did agree that today would be ok. They informed me that there's a $95 charge for the first 15 minutes, gave me a 3 hour window of noon-3pm, and said the tech would call me 15-20 minutes prior to arriving.

Still nothing at 3:45. I sent Besco both a text and email, and got a call back, telling me the tech was delayed but is still coming. I told them not to bother, since not only did they waste 3.5 hours of MY time yet expected me to pay them nearly $100 for 15 minutes of THEIR time, the fact that nobody bothered to let me know of the delay was infuriating. There are plenty of other companies who give a darn about their customers - it's evident that Besco is not one of them.

My AC compressor blew out on a very hot Sunday. We called Besco for help; and they were able to come out in a couple hours to investigate. Turned out the compressor was blown. We have young kids and wanted the functioning ASAP. Besco was able to do a temporary repair immediately, and went above and beyond to squeeze in a replacement install on a busy Monday.

I called them as my AC was not working. They charged 90$ for coming which is more than all other companies. Then the guy added 200$ for "cleaning " before asking me if I wanted this service At the end the AC was not working and the only thing the guy wanted was to make us pay for a replacement, pushing for that Very unprofessional and Felix Gonzalez was unpleasant Stay away from company, they just want you to take your money

I purchased a high efficiency HVAC system from Besco over three years ago for my 2 story cape cod in Edison Park. I felt compelled to write this review at this time because only because I have gradually learned of the things that were done improperly from other furnace maintenance companies thru the years. As Besco prices are higher than most, I reasoned I was paying more for their high end products and expert installation.

But beware - they will cut corners and short change you wherever they can. When Ed Pfieffer first gave me the estimate, he included, in writing, to relocate my furnace air return to the front of the unit, instead of the rear where it was bizarrely located. A welcome observation as I was oblivious as to the implications of this. Unfortunately, after the new Trane furnace was installed, the air return remained where it was originally. Second, I purchased a two stage furnace along with a two stage thermostat, but the old thermostat was only wired for a single stage furnace.

Two stage furnaces work best when they have the one extra wire. To rewire my thermostat so this expensive furnace could work at its most efficient level, would have only required pulling 10 feet of wire vertically from the basement directly up to the 1st floor thru the existing holes - maybe 15 minutes of work. But this was not done. So my investment in this technologically advanced furnace could not use its energy efficient air recirculation technology to its fullest. Instead, the installers simply rigged my furnace to cycle the blowers for 15 minutes once the thermostat reached the triggering temperature. Lastly, my basement furnace was only 1 of 2 HVAC systems in my house.

It should have sufficient ability to heat both the basement and the first floor. It took another home estimate from another company to point out my basement had only 1 vent blowing air from about 10 feet from a furnace intake - hardly enough distance to stir the cold air from the corners of the open basement. A simple fix of sealing that vent off and creating one or two new ones further down the exposed duct-work would have been enough to create sufficient warm air circulation.

Certainly a professional HVAC company as big as Besco installer would have caught this. But alas, no. So I'm stuck with a cold basement and half-assed two stage furnace that's cheating me of its advanced technology. My advise, skip Besco and go with a smaller local installer.

I sent my design plans over a week ago at which point they told me they wouldn't be able to review and get back to me until the following week. No problem i waited to then get a call that they do not do new installs unless high-end and was told they usually quote double. Pretty annoying to hear from a business owner then why advertise on Yelp if you not able to take on jobs from your local customers.

Unfortunately a local company earned a 1-star rating. I called them on the hottest weekend of early June. Their technician, Cheech, arrived promptly, was very personable but assessed the situation incorrectly. He said that the blower motor could not be replaced on this furnace without great effort and expense, due to this furnace being too close to the 1st floor furnace.

It made sense to me at that time, and the charge was $200 for this information. Due to the extreme heat that weekend, I bought and installed window a/c units in each of the bedrooms in the 2nd floor apartment, which cost $600+ and a number of hours for installation. But a couple of weeks later, I called a different company (a 1-man shop) and he came over and changed the blower motor on this furnace without issue!

So I called Besco's sales guy to explain the situation and complain that I paid them $200 for an incorrect assessment and $600 to provide window a/c to my tenants, when I really didn't need to. He said he would talk to the owner and get back to me that following week after the 4th of July. It's been a month, an no return calls from Besco.

They were very quick to charge the Sunday service fee but they gave me wrong information and caused me additional expense and time. So, no thanks to Besco, the central air in my upstairs apartment is working just fine, but I am $800 poorer because of them. D. Ross

I had 5 companies quote me a replacement AC unit with some duct work for return air. Besco came through with the best price. Ed Pfeifer the sales rep. was great to work with, explained the work in detail and answered all my questions. The labor and parts warranty were also better then the others quoted. The morning of the install Cesar and Manny were here 7 AM sharp and promptly went to work.

The guys were very professional did a great job and left everything spotless when done. Being fairly knowledgeable of what needed to be done I'm completely satisfied and I highly recommend Besco Air. Job well done!

Our AC unit broke down after a series of service calls over the years and we decided to get a combination furnace and AC unit for efficiency. So we decided to get a Trane system (Don't mess with Texas) because of the positive online consumer feedback. We called three authorized dealers for quotes and Besco was in the mddle of the pack, however, we decided to go with them because of the exceptional customer service.

During the consultation we felt good about Joe, it was a feeling of integrity and subject matter expertise that he displayed. A big plus with the system is that the Nexia thermostat is internet connected and it's very nice in that you can control it by Iphone or laptop. The thermostat can even control your smart home (if you have one, we certainly don't).

After the installation, when we had questions, (even during the holidays) Joe still responded to our emails within an hour or so.now who can beat that? We waited for a year pass to write this review to make sure that our system was done right and we are very happy with it! Hopefully Besco will not disappoint us in the years to come. Heck, hopefully we don't have to do this again until 2030.
