The partners of RMB Building & Design, have been in the building industry since 1973, and building in the Wilmington, North Carolina area since 1987. Since that time, we have built hundreds of custom homes for Landfall, Porters Neck, and Wrightsville Beach property owners. The staff is trained in all phases of drafting, design, and construction, enabling us to work with clients from conception to completion of their dream home. Based on several recommendations we started the conversation with RMB on building our retirement home in Landfall. This started in the fall of 2018. A year later we brought the basics of a plan to Mac and asked him to do his magic in making it into what we wanted. Ground was broken in Sept. 2020 and completed in Nov. 2021. This was a difficult time to build as Mac and Travis navigated both material and labor shortages.
Above everything else we are pleased with the quality of construction. The way Mac and Travis build a home is special. We highly recommend the team at RMB for any project from remodeling to new construction. We would use RMB again with no regrets.

This is the second time we have used RMB to complete a major $80,000 to $100,000 project at our home. RMB is a superior custom home builder but will eagerly tackle tough remodeling projects. They can assist in design and layout but they excel in managing a project and the various trades from beginning to end. I highly recommend their company.

RMB Building & Design built my entire house. From the very beginning of the process, they fully understood our ideas and built the perfect home. Mack, Travis, Virginia & Kay were wonderful to work with; professional, responsive to my smallest question (which were many), friendly and always helpful. Their integrity is without question. My husband and I contracted with RMB to build our custom home. Mack and Travis were great to work with, listened to what we wanted and provided suggestions and alternatives to ensure we stayed with budget but still received the look and result we really wanted. Mack and Travis Braxton of RMB custom designed and built our home. We had never had a home built before, which is why we went with them. They explained everything very clearly, and kept my wife calm. The quality they built into our home from the start is what separates them from others. Some builders bid "spec home" quality, and every add is an up-charge later on.
But RMB includes the quality right from the start. The difference between their initial bid and our final cost was about $5000, and that was only because we changed something late in the process. If your goal is a livable, comfortable, high quality custom home, for a fair price, go with a high quality custom home builder. Go with Mack and Travis of RMB. We did, and we never regretted it.
