We recently had a mediation case with our builder resolved here. At first I was skeptical that the MBA would be biased towards the builder since the builder pays dues to the MBA. We originated our case in late 2020 and I became irritated because it appeared to me that our case was being delayed unnecessarily. Over a month after originating our case I was told that the person assigned to our case was sick.

I dislike excuses and I felt that our case should have be reassigned more quickly (thus the four star rating instead of five). I understand that 2020 was the year of covid, but I also think that people and businesses use covid as an excuse far too often. Finally in the middle of February our mediation date was scheduled for the middle of March. The day before mediation, the builder asked to delay our meeting because one of their sales reps was not able to attend at the scheduled time.

I objected to rescheduling our meeting and the MBA decided the meeting should not be rescheduled on such short notice. On mediation day I didn't know what to expect, but I was still skeptical that the MBA was going to be objective. To my surprise and delight our case with the builder was settled in about an hour and in the end the builder is essentially paying my contractor to fix a mistake.

Everyone I dealt with at the MBA was professional and courteous. I am so glad the MBA was able to deal effectively with our case! I'm sure it saved everyone involved a lot of time and legal expenses. Thanks MBA!

This organization is rigged in favor of the home builder that pays their dues to be a member. We went to litigation with the builder we eventually fired due to theft by contractor and were told "we have to do business with these builders so we have to tread lightly and try not to upset them". They were of some help, but make no mistake that they work for the contractors that pay their dues. Crooked AF.
