We have used 5th Generation for 4 projects and are currently undergoing our 5th. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to take on a renovation project. They source only the finest craftsmen and the level of work/attention to detail is top notch. From start to finish you know exactly what is going on with your project, they send out multiple updates per week.

We have done a lot of work with Luke Cobb and he is a true professional. Always very responsive and sets realistic expectations. If you are looking for a company that does high quality renovation services, look no further!

We used 5th Generation to do a complete remodel of our basement (demolition down to the studs) and major updates to our master bathroom. We could not be happier with their work. Our project manager, Eric, was an absolute dream to work with, and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. We definitely will use them for future renovations.

Working with Melissa and her team was so easy. They are professional, thorough & caring. The end result of our extensive renovation is beautiful! Definitely recommend 5th Generation!

We did a major remodel that included the master bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, screened porch and the removal of popcorn from the ceilings. The remodel turned out extremely well thanks to the designer working with 5th Generation and the entire 5th Generation Team. Most important they stand by their work and they are most pleasant to work with.

We had a wonderful experience with 5th Generation when they renovated our kitchen, laundry and added an open floor plan and full bath. They were fantastic to work with from start to finish! My new kitchen and living space is beautiful and the layout is very functional. It was great to have everything taken care of with one team. We will be using them again when we are ready to renovate our master bedroom & bath.

I am posting this review because 5th Generation is repeatedly texting me asking for a review. I cannot strongly enough suggest that you use any company but 5th Generation. Our experience was that the quality of the work was poor (to the extent that the safety of our home and family were in jeopardy) as was the integrity of the individuals that we dealt with.

We hired 5th Gen several years ago to do a significant home renovation including a full kitchen remodel, complete rewiring of our home (at their recommendation), painting, building out of a laundry room, etc. We specifically modified their template agreement so that any changes in the price agreed/scope of work would have to be set forth in a change order we both signed.

I could write pages on challenges that we had with 5th Generation but will provide two examples. Our contract included a "complete rewiring" of our home - we believed all of the wires in our home would be replaced and that all of the work performed by the electricians (installing new lights throughout the house, adding a new electrical panel, etc.) was completed and performed properly.

We began having issues (fuses repeatedly popping) and brought in another electrician as we kept getting the run around from 5th Gen and comments about how although the contract said complete rewrite it didn't really mean that. We're not electricians so we brought one in to look at the work and diagnose the problem. What he found was our attic was filled from one end to the other with random parts and exposed wiring that the electricians had left behind, literally laying exposed in the insulation.

After providing pictures to 5th Gen they cleaned the area up - we were fortunate the house didn't burn down as we never would have seen this dangerous situation. The wiring/fuses also were a mess - we had the fuses, electrical panel and much of the wiring that 5th Gen did redone so that we could have several lights on in 1 room without fuses popping.

At the end of the job (we were frustrated with how poorly the project had gone and 5th Gen was fed up with us for repeatedly bringing issues to their attention) they provided us with a final bill that was $1,000+ over the agreed amount with all of the change orders. When we asked why they advised that they had gotten a bigger bill from the cabinet vendor for additional work we'd asked for.

We explained we did not ask for additional work - there were 2 items they needed to redo because they weren't done properly - 5th Gen was copied on all communication with the vendor. The contract was between 5th Gen and the vendor and was for them to deal with if the amounts weren't what was expected. We paid the full amount per the contract. 5th Gen's response was to put a lien on our home.

We spoke to an attorney but the net was by that point the amount we would've incurred in legal fees + the arbitration clause in the agreement didn't make it worthwhile to pursue. We learned of 5th Gen from our real estate agent who admittedly just knew that they had done some work at her church. Our fault for not doing better due diligence - our agent along with us learned the hard way. Save yourself the time, expense, frustration and safety issues and hire another company.

They seem to be okay. However they wouldn't touch our job because it was less than $75,000 so they do some pretty pricey jobs and I can only assume do halfway decent work considering they've been around for a while. They do not offer any sort of financing so be prepared to write a check or pay cash.

I had my entire house remodeled both inside and out and the end-result is beyond what I had imagined. They took my dated 80s stucco house and totally transformed it into a beautiful craftsman. Their architect and interior designer are fantastic! Their team designed it to my budget and really listened to my wants and needs. Inside, they raised our sunken den and took down walls to create a massive open living space with a new kitchen layout. We had the bathrooms and floors all redone as well. 5th Generation was amazing from beginning to end. I will definitely recommend them to my friends and neighbors!

We hired 5th Generation Contracting to renovate the main living space of our home including our kitchen. We were impressed from the initial meeting all the way to the final walk-through. The thoughtful approach to finding out the reasons behind our renovation allowed the design team to make budget conscious suggestions to meet our needs. Our project manager's daily email updates made sure we were all on the same page and knew exactly what happened each day and what was planned for the rest of the week.

We appreciate our project manager's calm demeanor and patience in answering all of our questions and concerns promptly. The construction quality is of the highest standards and the meticulous finishing is impeccable. We absolutely love the transformation of our living space and kitchen and couldn't be happier.

We met Wayne and his son in law this week. A very professional team. They have a thoughtful approach to improvement projects while balancing budget. We're really looking forward to getting started and working with their design teams.

I first used 5th Generation when a large oak tree caused major damage to our home. A friend recommended them to me. I loved working with Melissa, Wayne and Bob. They handled everything with the insurance company and did a fantastic job on the house. Melissa and I talked almost daily so I always knew exactly what was going on. We had a skylight that was not cracked, but Melissa was concerned that it was structurally weakened because the tree hit very close to it.

When the insurance company balked at covering this, Melissa went to bat for me and ultimately got the insurance company to pay. It was a pleasure working with them. We have used 5th Generation 2 other times since and I would strongly recommend them to anyone needing work done on their home. When I need home renovations or repairs in the future, I'll be calling them again.
