Pat Murphy Electric

I hired Pat Murphy Electric to install 220 VAC, 30 A service for a grinder pump. The installation failed state inspection due to wires passing through a wall which were hanging loose which should have been enclosed in a conduit, conduit resting on the floor in the crawl space which should have been strapped to the ceiling, and improper grounding of the circuit at the distribution panel.

The installer returned to fix these problems. The work then passed inspection, but I later found that the conduit in the crawl space had been strapped to the ceiling in the more accessible part of the crawl space but was still resting on the floor in the back of the crawl space. When plumbers installed the grinder pump, they found that it would not operate due to low voltage on one leg of the circuit.

The installer returned once again to tighten a loose connection in the wiring. I give Pat Murphy Electric two stars rather than just one because they did return to remediate substandard work.

Myles and Kelly of Pat Murphy Electric showed up as scheduled to install a circuit in our garage to support charging an electric car. They were professional and I especially appreciated their communication throughout the job. They asked good questions about the equipment that would be used (since it's not here yet) and we discussed alternatives. I found this really helpful and productive.

Hi Pat Murphy Electric. My brother owns Murphy Family Electric. I'm going to go ahead and flag the bad reviews for you. It might work and get you up the 5 stars. I don't like people complaining about paying you fairly. Someone doing a job for $120. That's not what professionals do. That's handyman stuff and the guy probably wasn't licensed. Also if people want your time $50 is cheap for travel. Gas is crazy and people are nuts. Best of luck.

Zack saved us from a probable electric fire. He found a switch that was arcing and kicking a breaker. Disaster averted! Critical: Professionalism They want to charge $60-$75 just to do an estimate. I just needed one new receptacle put in. I don't want to be charged to know how much your company charges when I am getting multiple estimates. Most companies do not charge for this.

I had Pat Murphy Electric replace my old ungrounded wiring and receptacles in my house. They also ran a data cable to my office. They completed all the work in one day and left the house cleaner than they found it. Each electrician was very professional and personable. All the work was done properly and cleanly. I reached out to Pat Murphy's because of question I had about the wiring in a ceiling fan I was replacing. The question was answered. While Erik was at our house I explained a couple of electrical issues we had concerning our microwave blowing fuses because of other appliances running and our furnace not tied to a dedicated circuit. He understood the issue and explained it could be fixed. He quoted the job to fix. He and Thomas just finished and did an outstanding job. It was an all day project and completed to my satisfaction.

Erick and Thomas came when they said they would, introduced themselves and investigated the problem and investigated the problem. They told me what they were going to do, what they were going to do, did what they said and took care of it quickly. I am very satisfied with the work of Pat Murphy electricians. Jason and Erick were very professional and helpful. They went above and beyond in their work. Erick did most of the work on my home and did an excellent job. Jason was the foreman who did the quote and part of the install. Sometimes I get work done by other contractors and feel like they are pushing for me to do too much and are way over charging me. I did not feel this was with these guys. They did exactly what I asked for, to all the current codes and for a very fair price. I would use them again.

We had a outlet that started to catch fire, the gentlemen made excellent recommendations on what to do. Quickly performed the work, at a reasonable price. Fixed the circuit a space heater was on to prevent this from happening again. Both gentlemen were wearing masks and was respectful of our belongs when moving the furniture to access other outlets.
