About Us Report

Johnson Building Restoration is a continuation of Mid-Century Building Restoration which was founded in 1952 and owned by Sam Baker. This company specialized in sandblasting, painting, and tuck pointing which is the focus yet today. Famous projects include the entire interior of the Truman Library and servicing the Hoover Dam along with many other projects, nationally and locally.

Tuckpointing Report

Johnson Building Restoration is Southern Minnesota's Tuckpointing Specialist. Preserving the heritage of Southern Minnesota's historical buildings for over 25 years. Tuckpointing is the removal of old, deteriorating mortar joints and replacing with new mortar to seal holes and cracks for preservation of chimneys and buildings and to keep the bricks from deteriorating. We strive to clean, repair, maintain and protect our history.

Stucco Report

Stucco Installation and repair of concrete stucco; in addition to the installation of Exterior Insulating Finish Systems (E.I.F.S.) is provided. E.I.F.S is a foam and concrete base system with an acrylic finish coat for exterior walls. We work hard to get the recommendations of valued customers.

Painting & Sandblasting Report

Painting and Sandblasting Lead Abatement certified. Primarily exterior paiting on residential and commercial properties. Including specialty paints such as: epoxies, mastics, sealers, lacquers, acrylics, and alkyds. High work is also a service provided. Sandblasting is used for the removal of paint from wood, steel and brick where possible without damage to surfaces. Chemical removal of paint is also offered when sandblasting is not possible. We work hard to get the recommendations of valued customers.

Blake did a fabulous job restoring my old and broken- down front step. It was the original steps for the house built in 1941 and was in terrible condition, but I wanted to restore it and not replace it because it added charm to the house. It looks great now!

We had a great experience having Johnson Building Restoration re-do the tuckpointing on the stone foundation on our very old home. The work is beautiful, and was done a timely and efficient fashion for a very reasonable price. We highly recommend this company.

I would highly recommend this company. My landlord hired them to work on my business's building. They did tuckpointing on the lower portion, waterblasting to clean the brick, painting of trim, fascia, balcony and ornate columns. They were very professional and workmanship great.
