Buchanan Construction

We've had experience with home builders. This is the 5th home we have built. What sets Buchanan apart from other home builders is their commitment to the client when things go wrong. We had things go "wrong." No fault of the builder. However Rick and his team went above and beyond to make sure we had a well built quality home. The quality workmanship and commitment to doing it right the first time was evident. A lot of companies can build a nice home. It's what they do in the process and after move-in that really shows good integrity. We found just that with Buchanan Construction.

Buchanan Construction built our house in Kenmure, Flat Rock. They are an extremely professional company with very high standards. Our house was completed on time, and we were very pleased with the standard of workmanship. Thomas Hendrix was our construction manager, and we can not say enough good things about him. He built our house with all the care and attention to detail that he would have used if he were building his own home. Lindsey Kehres, an interior decorator employed by Buchanan, helped us make all the hundreds of decisions involved in building a house. Her expertise was invaluable, and we love all the choices she helped us make. We are very glad we chose Buchanan Construction to be our builder.

We initially met Rick at a Tour of Homes event in The Ramble, when we were considering purchasing a lot and building. We had just started thinking about it and the process seemed like it might be hard and intimidating. But, meeting Rick was the best thing that could have happened. We were impressed with the Tour home he built, and we liked a lot of the design features- things that we were really looking for.

Our favorite was the "football porch" and the kitchen. Rick gave us some reassuring advice, he even gave us some great tips on which lot to purchase based on the things we wanted (i.e. no basement). We checked with some friends who were building with Rick and they had many wonderful things to say about him and his company. We decided to go for it, and we are so glad we did.

Working with Buchanan Construction demystified the build process, they made everything clear through frequent meetings with us, excellent communication, and lots of information. We felt in control, and yet we could still lean on their expertise to help design the project. Rick even helped us find an architect who could design exactly what we were envisioning.

We are absolutely thrilled with our new home, and we have family members who are now building with Rick. The real asset of Buchanan Construction is their people. Rick has assembled some fantastic folks at his company. Steven is a tremendous and thoughtful project manager, his skill in managing the subs is evident in the details. We would have been lost without Madison's careful eye and skillful guidance. Jeff H. is such a professional and a craftsman- he added some features we really wanted and took the time to design them right and build them out.

He also came back many times to finish little things. Now that we are 1 year into our new home, working with Randy has been tremendous, he is polite and attentive and gets the warranty work done. These are some of the many excellent people we were lucky enough to work with. What can we say, we are thrilled with our new home, I love my football porch, and we 100% recommend Buchanan Construction.

We had a very good experience building our new home with Buchanan Construction. The finished result exceeded our expectations. Everyone at Buchanan was great to work with and special thanks to Clay and Madison for all their efforts in ensuring our home turned out exactly as we wanted. Throughout the process, the Buchanan team really listened and delivered on our vision for the house even when that meant making changes as we went along.

They were also very responsive in quickly resolving any of our punch list items after we moved in. We're really happy with our new home and would definitely recommend Buchanan Construction.

We had our home built by Buchanan Construction and were extremely pleased with the entire process from start to finish. Their designers listened to our ideas regarding floor plan and styles and worked with us until we came up with just the right plan to meet our needs and budget. This saved us thousands of dollars as opposed to working with a separate architect from the beginning.

Our Construction Supervisor, Steven George was always available to us and went out of his way to accommodate any changes. Our home is superbly built and very comfortable. The in-house designer, Madison McGraw, spent numerous hours with us helping us to design our interior spaces exactly as we wanted and we couldn't be happier. Madison and Steve were both a pleasure to work with.

Once our home was finished, our punch-list items were handled promptly and safely even during the COVID pandemic. Since completion, our "go-to" man has been Randy Collins who has taken care of all those little things (and some a little bigger) that you notice need tending to once you've lived in the house for a few months. He is always readily available and responsive if something arises and we couldn't be happier with the quality construction and service we received and continue to receive from Buchanan Construction!

Buchanan built our home, and later provided remodeling when a huge tree fell on our home. They were outstanding in both instances and resolved any problems quickly and to our satisfaction. We strongly recommend them. Having traded with Rick Buchanan and his staff for many, many years I feel compelled to post this review. Their attention to detail, knowledge of the building trade, interactions with their clients and suppliers like us, separates them from the competition. We truly appreciate their integrity, ethics, and commitment to the building industry and I am glad to know them personally and professionally.

We loved working with the talented staff at Buchanan Construction. Turning a set of blueprints into a finished product requires adaptation and modifications that may not be expected by the average homeowner.
