Our mission is to be the builder of choice for our customers; to ensure that the service we provide is not simply an exceptional finished product, but the achievement of the highest level of customer satisfaction through communication, accountability, and superior performance by every member of our BCI Team. Our success in constructing projects from the ground up is reliant on the best Estimators, Project Managers, Superintendents, and Craft Labor in the industry. Our Superintendents have worked up through the ranks as craft laborers gaining both the knowledge and experience necessary to lead on site.
Services
Burton Construction, Inc. is not merely a project management firm. We are a true contractor with a strong track record of providing high quality construction services with our own skilled craftsmen. From a single owner-operator in 1978, BCI consistently employs 75 people, on a monthly average. In addition to our in-house BCI Team, we continue to grow and maintain a large database of highly qualified subcontractors in every field of construction that partner with us on our many projects across the United States.
In the mid 70's Jerry Burton was a partner in a small construction company, Century Builders, in the Los Angeles area. Here he learned the remodeling business and the hands-on trades of framing, concrete, masonry, roofing, and other construction services. In April of 1976, Jerry moved his family to the Spokane, Washington area and worked for others in construction before starting his own company.
The DESIGN/BUILD process provides the contractor a unique opportunity to join forces with the customer and the architect and engineering firm during the concept phase of a project to provide valuable input for constructability and cost estimating. This collaborative approach allows the contractor to make critical VALUE ENGINEERING and scheduling adjustments during the design phase instead of during bidding or construction where it would require change orders and/or modifications to plans, specifications, and construction schedules.
Job Order Contracting (JOC) is a way of getting relatively small and simple construction projects done easily and quickly. The JOC method of project delivery was devised by the military in the 1980s as a way to overcome problems associated with the traditional Design Bid Build (DBB) method. The common occurrences of construction delays, cost over-runs, and quality disputes were successfully reduced using the new method, and JOC has been equally successful in the private sector for many years.Legislation has authorized the use of JOC for public construction in many states including Washington.
