Stacey & Bailey at the design studio were fantastic to work with selecting everything from colors to all the options for our build-to-suite home. Excellent recommendations and very organized from providing all the options available, recommending, and providing all associated costs if any. Hubbell doesn't provide options pricing details until you get to the design studio selections which scared me that they would be astronomical, but when we did all the selections, everything was very reasonably priced or included which was a pleasant surprise.
We originally met Chris at the model home and he was very informative and took us to a couple similar houses when we were deciding which home and options we wanted - really friendly and went the extra mile answering our questions. We're on to the permit and construction phase, but to this point, we've been very happy with Hubbell.

As a Realtor, creating an amazing client experience is everything. Working with Hubbell reps Jake Mallas and Conner Boatman made this possible! When it comes to helping my clients and I through the building process, these guys are great. Highly recommend working with these two! Service: Consultation

BE AWARE! I am editing this review after being in a home several times and every single time I find more that is poor quality, for something that is only 4 years old. The creaky floor mentioned below? It is EVERYWHERE and SUPER LOUD. Railings, loose and poor quality. Also, HOA fees raised WITHOUT any notice and when being sold the property is was not mentioned at all.
The owner of this property only found out by getting an invoice with the extra cost and from what we have been told, it will not cover nor will the insurance on property cover all the issues within the home. We had been looking at a model home and was immediately drawn to it because of the "newness" and the community it was in. However, we are thankful to have not made the decision to buy one ourselves, because someone else we know did and for only being 6 years old, or is it 4 years old?
It sounds more like 100 or more! Every floor creaks, horribly. No exaggeration there, at all. A couple of the doors have to be shut hard and still they may not get shut due to being off centered with the way the door frame was built. Not only that but the heating system blows out cold air. Understanding now how they can put up many houses, quickly.
Terrible quality. Terrible. Now we understand why so many people are selling in that area. After this review alone, 4 more houses within' walking distance came up for sale. They continue to do so and I feel bad for the people buying them quickly because they "look" good. Really look into it. Ask people that live in the neighborhood, etc. It may be appealing because of the pool, courts, and park but make sure especially with the dues being raised if it is worth it.

I would recommend avoiding Hubbell homes at all costs. The service and quality are well below the normal builder in the West Des Moines area. We had our home built late last year. The overall process was average, Hubbell will make sure that you know that you are just a contract and they do not care about the entire experience. Needless to say, we were disappointed with the process but still proceeded with the home.
The home has been fine, there are issues that one should not have had to deal with on a new home. That is where the real trouble will begin. I have to be blunt here, Hubbell's Home warranty is not worth the paper its written on. If you do file a needed repair, expect that it will take multiple months to get fixed, that's if they fix it at all.
They do not care about the quality of the repairs and are obviously using the bottom dollar repairs. I would not be able to recommend Hubbell Homes solely on the subpar quality of the home warranty.

I have owned three new homes and my Hubbell experience has been by far the best. You know when you buy a new home that there will always be something that needs to be corrected. I have had three repairs completed to my home and all of the warranty work has been done in a timely manner with qualified repair personnel. I applaud Hubbell homes for the excellent quality of staff who make the repairs.
I have met three individuals from their team and each has been exceptional in customer service and technical abilities. Hubbell also has an easy-to-use warranty portal online that allows you to make the initial claim and to follow the progress. I think they are a great organization and I would and do recommend Hubbell Homes to everyone.

Make sure all repairs are completed before you close on a house with Hubbell. I waited well over a year to get concrete and a sinkhole fixed that both my wife and I addressed during the walk thru as a major safety. Hubbell had concrete trucks in the Legacy neighborhood almost daily and Orton builders across the street went from bare ground to a completed home before our work order was completed.
All the while I was being told I was not forgotten and it was a priority. The next repair that took over a year to complete was improperly installed flashing that led to water getting into the door and window in the basement. I sent many emails with pictures and a video of water dripping from the door. Again the promise of fixing it as a priority, waited a few months for them to caulk the around the exterior.
The cheap fix did not work so I waited months to properly install the flashing and replace the trim. The trim did not match the other side of the door. I have been waiting since at least June 2014 to address the water pooling on the deck. Again cheap fixes were offered like drilling holes into the Trex decking or wanting use a circular saw to cut gaps so the water would drain.
Once it was clear the replacement was the answer the back and forth went on. Hubbell said wait until spring then we can address it. Spring turned to summer then into fall. The last email was 8/22/17 but Trex decking discontinued the color but "still committed to finding a resolution despite my snails pace." The service manager left soon after. Check out the pictures to see was my deck looks like after it rains.
I looked into legal action but the time and money did not seem worth it. The ironic part is during this process a $300 late fee from Jeremy Feitelson Law that Hubbell charged for being late on a $350 HOA dues in 2015. I recently had a siding issue with my Hardie Plank which should last 20-25 years. I put the order in just after a section of siding fell off on 6/12 of this year.
I asked to call me so I could be in the loop. I was lucky enough to be a home when a Hardie Plank rep came out to look at the siding on 6/30. I had no knowledge he was coming. He took pictures and was going to write a report. I asked for that report on 7/9 and to call me. I asked for an update three more times with no response. The case was closed on 7/17 with a note to make a claim.
I got no response. After a month of siding flapping in the wind and a piece missing I did what any homeowner would I had in repaired on 7/28. The claim was closed by Hubbell on 7/29. No call, no help, no reason. This is a dangerous pattern of not standing my your product and stalling to save a few bucks. They won again. I opened another claim for the deck because the support boards are starting to show signs of water damage due to the constant exposure to water that pools since the house was built.
Again the same, opened on July 14th then July 30th a Trex rep will come out and Hubbell will let me know when they get a time. Still waiting and expect the same result as the siding. I reached out with my concerns to Hubbell Customer Care via email twice (7/30 and 8/6) with no response. To Hubbell I mean less to them than getting a new development completed quickly.
If you are buying a new house from Hubbell get it inspected and don't hand over a dime until repairs are made and hope nothing goes wrong after because it is a pain after that. Knowing what is right is pretty easy until you involve money. Somebody once said "If you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning." Let this review be your warning about Hubbell. Thanks for your time.

The design of a house we viewed was terrible. I asked who built the home and was told Hubbell. Here is just one example of poor attention to detail. They installed the bathroom light switch on the outside left. Who does that? And the towel rack placement is as far as you can get from the shower with no actual space for a towel rack beside the shower. Also, the pocket door to this bathroom is next to impossible to open.no handle, not spring loaded, etc. After viewing this home, I would not purchase from Hubbell.
