Expanding your living space in the summer is one of the greatest benefits of a deck. Whether traditional or modern styling, wood or composite materials, everyone can envision their dream outdoor living space. At Coy, we bring that vision to life. Your porch is an extension of your indoor living space, and deserves the same attention to detail that you'd pay if restyling one of your indoor gathering spaces. At Coy, we recognize that this is the space where homecoming photos will be taken, as well as first day of school photos.
Since 1996, Trex has invented, defined and perfected the composite deck category with a lineup of low-maintenance, high-performance, eco-friendly products that fundamentally change the way we live outdoors. It's no wonder so many happy deck owners consider Trex the best decking material. Because Trex is made of wood-alternative composite, your outdoor living space will be a low-maintenance, high-performance backyard retreat that can handle the outdoors without depleting them, and will do it for decades.

Couldn't agree more with previous one star rating by William Nofar. Our builder decided to use Coy construction for several deck projects around the house and each of them had major issues that required correction by another company due to Coy refusing to properly fix. Absolutely zero accountability or quality once the project is complete. Most recently our deck stairway is nearly detached and a safety hazard (see first pic) and Mike McCoy response "we are swamped and this is not a priority, I may come look at it in a few weeks" this all after our builder already inspected and confirmed the improper initial installation.

The previous major issue we had with a leak into our home from lack of proper flashing under the second story deck they came to "look" at 3-4 times over months to only add some caulking around edge that did zero to fix the leak. This deck was completely redone by our builder and low and behold has never leaked again. For me to leave a negative review it takes a lot, congrats Coy Construction you are that BAD.

Save yourself the headache, time, money and believe the negative reviews! Previous review: Beware! Stay away from Coy Construction. They installed my deck and now it's a safety hazard. They didn't put the footings in deep enough when they installed my deck. This is causing my deck to rise and is uneven. Now my deck is at an angle and is difficult to walk on.

I left over 20 messages with no response. Mike McCoy (owner) is a slick talker and does the blame game. They don't warranty there work. He wants to charge me a lot of money to fix the problem his company created I would not recommend this company.

I recommended Coy Construction to my elderly (in her 90's) neighbor. They had done an excellent job on my deck four years ago. Well, I was worried when she told me two weeks ago that she paid them by cashier's check the full amount before they even started and that she forgot she had already given them a down-payment so the cashier's check was actually over the amount.

They had cancelled once because of rain and I was really stressed that she was being taken advantage of and I was the one who recommended them. I shouldn't have worried! She told me this week that they finished her deck and it was beautiful and said a woman from Coy called her to let her know she paid too much and she already got the overpayment back! Thank you Coy Construction!

While Coy Construction was timely and thorough in putting in our Trex deck in 2014, the follow up was very poor. There were two minor repairs that we requested that Coy attempted without success shortly after the installation. Last December, we needed several boards removed from the deck to access electrical wiring underneath. Mike McCoy came out in February to scope out the job and stated that he'd be back in touch at the beginning of the deck season (approximately April) to complete the job.

From that point onward, it became a series of unfulfilled promises and unreturned phone calls and emails. Finally, we were able to locate a service--Ace Handyman--which scheduled and completed the job on our schedule in under two weeks. The entire project, including the uncompleted repairs from our original install, took an hour and a half. I understand the difficulty of hiring qualified staff during these times, but making promises that you cannot keep and failing to return calls, despite assurances from the receptionist, that I'd receive a follow up within 24 hours, is inexcusable. For the record, we've still not received any contact from a Coy representative in the three months since my last contact.

February 2021: Very comfortable setting. They have comparable products and services and can match anyone. They put our estimate into terms we could relate. If you're looking for prices, these folks have been in the business 40+ years. They are very competitive. They're worth your time. June 2021: Now that Coy Construction has completed the job, I feel good about leaving a review.

I have to say it was difficult to get a start date. We needed our deck redone - added a few square feet to stretch out. But the weather did complicate the issue. And we did reserve an estimated start time back in February. All that aside, when the final start date was agreed upon, the crew was on time and did excellent work. They never left a mess, and cleaned up when they finished.

They stopped when appropriate, to address questions. And they were professional throughout the entire job. The office staff were knowledgeable, polite, and efficient. And Mike did a great job providing an estimate for what was needed. We are very pleased with the final product. Our deck is exactly what we wanted. If you're thinking about installing a deck, or remodeling an existing deck, I cannot recommend a better company than Coy Construction.

Seeing that this business has a ton of Trump flags out front, I can't support a business that supports undermining our democracy.

I am beyond thrilled with my new deck. It looks beautiful. The guys did a wonderful job, cleaned up after themselves and always in a good mood. It was easy to work with Mike, the owner. He was very helpful in guiding us on what to choose. I would recommend Coy Construction to anyone, in a heartbeat. Great price, great work and great cleanup. What more could you want? Am very satisfied.

We are so very happy with our new Trex deck from Coy Construction! Bryan was easy to work with, he gave us a great price and was open to our ideas and suggestions. Mark and his crew were awesome. They were very respectful, had a methodical plan and did an amazing job cleaning up at the end of the day. They were able to complete our entire project in a little over a week. The professionalism of this operation was evident from start to finish.

I had Coy Construction design and install my deck last year. They did a great job building the deck. We have one of the nicest decks in our neighborhood. Sorry for the late review. Picture to come soon.

I have a small 1200 square foot ranch house that had an old plain and worn deck that was slanting toward the house causing water to run toward the house. Deck was in back yard in full sun and we avoided it a lot! Let CC know what I could afford and they took off top boards, raised the deck, put on new decking, built a bigger and attached step, and built the most amazing pergola all within my price range. All in three days. Great price and very professional! Highly recommend.

Do not use this company. I was promised our deck would be finished in one week. Two months later they have failed two inspections and have not returned to complete their work. I was treated rudely by Mike McCoy, the owner of the company, and by the man who was in charge of the crew. McCoy can be very charming but don't be fooled. His work is sloppy, he is rude and arrogant, and he seems to believe that building codes do not apply to him.

Coy did a complete deck remodel with Trex decking-- Converted an open deck to a screened porch. This included extending the roof and relocating supports. The picket railing was replaced with tempered glass. All was faced with cedar. Their expertise saved me a lot on design costs. They did everything including dealing with code officials for the permits.

Their recommendations for subs to do electrical, painting and gutter work were also excellent. We had a deadline for an upcoming 50th Wedding celebration and they worked tirelessly to finish in time. Owner Mike McCoy and the crew led by Adam were readily available and interactive. The new deck was the center of our entertainment for 60+ guests.

We had a terrible experience with this company. We hired them 23 years ago to build our deck and did a great job. So we hired them to redo the structure. They used subcontractors, who left a mess-nails, brackets, cigarette butts. After they tore the top off we notice 2 support boards they didn't replace and we requested they do so. They finished the top without doing so.

We asked repeatedly and Mike McCoy assured us it was fine. Overall the deck is cheaply done, nowhere near the quality we had before. We had to have a legal document drawn up that says they will fix the deck if it doesn't pass a buyers inspection when we go to sell. This is in northville township.

Very dissatisfied. I had them install my deck 5 years ago. I went with Trex. They didn't use the hidden fasteners, which I had wanted. 5 years later our trim boards are warping. I found out that they didn't use enough screws to hold them on. Per a second contractor and Trex. I waited 3 weeks for a call back to give me an idea on how to fix it. I gave up, and called someone else. The other contractor told me that he gets calls to fix their problems. Coy uses sub contractors, which has shown up as sub par quality.
