When you buy a car, you select the make and model, color, engine size, audio system, etc. from the dealer's option packages. Do you call it a custom car? Of course not; it's a production car with options. Likewise, if you select a house plan from an array of plans and then select the brick, carpet and countertops from a limited selection in the builder's showroom, it's not a custom home; it's a production house with options. With a custom car, you roll a chassis into the shop and build the car from scratch to your exact specifications.
Diane & David, you are dream makers! You certainly helped Don & my dreams come true by building us a wonderful home. We've appreciated working with you, but especially getting to know you over the past year. We totally love every square foot of our home. The building experience was a pure joy, from start to finish!

My wife and I interviewed several remodeling contractors before we met Diane and David Whiteley. We could tell from our first meeting that it was going to be a good fit. We took them on a tour of the house and pointed out the areas we wanted to be changed and updated. We could see their minds working. The Whiteley's then, sat with us and explained their vision, room by room. They used the word 'transformation' to describe what they had in mind. We really appreciated their hands-on approach. This included, accompanying us, to the tile, granite, plumbing, hardware, lighting and appliance suppliers to make selections. Diane has a talent for looking at colors and patterns that coordinated. She was also at the work site, overseeing the project. David laid out the kitchen and bath and family room reconfigurations to maximize space and functionality. His plans, dramatically, updated the look and feel of those areas.
The remodeling project took on a second phase when we moved to the back patio. Our house is on the water and has a beautiful view of Lake Conroe. Unfortunately, the patio was a real eye sore and was not a place that we could enjoy, much less entertain on. The Whiteley's studied the patio layout and came up with ideas for a complete transformation (there's that word again). The final product far exceeded our expectations and was the envy of neighbors.
We highly recommend Whiteley and Whiteley for any interior or exterior remodeling project.

To Whiteley and Whiteley: 5 STARS To the "anonymous" reviewer called: "NotDavidWhiteley": I was the potential buyer of your home. Your review is completely and utterly false. David Whiteley and his company were referred to us from our schools Physical Therapist as an EXPERT on home accessibility. David had been kind enough to come by our existing home to see if we had the room to make renovations for my sons accessibility, which we knew we didn't.
We had already started our home search, so we asked David, since he lives in the area, if he would accompany us out to see if your house would accommodate our son's wheelchair. I was shocked to hear about your review, so, let's get a few facts straight. He didn't spend time trashing your house. We walked him through the three secondary bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, laundry room, all external doors within your home.
He then measured and shared with us everything we could do within the house, and things we couldn't do without a complete tear down. Things you are fortunate enough to not have to worry about. Door width sink and bath/shower accessibility for the secondary bed and bathrooms. The laundry room hallway door width, the hallway storage by the mud room area we would have to remove to allow him access.
Imagine being a 13 year old boy and not being able to get into a pantry to grab a snack. Or reach the microwave to warm something. Accessibility issues are not on the forefront of builders minds, custom or not. They were not on ours when we bought our home we live in now. But as my son has grown, it is imperative that we invest in a house that he can access everything he needs to.
Which is why I found your review very sad and false. It is a shame that you put your false narrative on this man's company website, just because you didn't sell your home to us. I was extremely disappointed that you posted this on Whiteley and Whiteley's website google review, mischaracterizing what happened. David Whiteley was NOT rude, was NOT unprofessional, and certainly is NOT incompetent.
He was thoughtful, professional and he was what we, as parent's of a special needs child, needed to make sure our son's home allows him do do the things most people take for granted. Chip Abernathy

From the design phase to the execution of the project, David and Diane's expertise, professionalism and attention to detail were exceptional. Whiteley and Whiteley's balanced focus on quality design and functionality met our needs perfectly. We are proud of the space that David and Diane uniquely created with our home project.
