Decided on Jay Bilt Construction for siding and new covered porch construction and couldn't be happier! This company provides reliable services and excellent craftsmanship. Over the past summer I approached Jay-Bilt and Jim with a project, the demo of a large pole barn on my property and then building a new modern garage. From day one working with Jim has been fantastic, he was able to work within our and timeline. Communication of key dates and deliverables was fantastic and so were all the various crews that worked on the project; demo crew, concrete, framing and electrical. I am super happy with my new garage and look forward to using Jay-bilt for future planned home renovations

Excellent people with excellent craftsmen. We are thrilled with our home renovation and expansion. One of the city inspectors said that he wished he could bring people to my job site to show them how a job should be done. I can't say enough nice things about these folks.

We used Jay Bilt Construction to remodel the second story master bedroom and a few other items in our home in Dearborn at the end of 2014 and early 2015. Jim and the crew were great to work with during the project. Jim kept me informed as to the status of the project and the workers were also great. They showed up on the job as promised and cleaned up after themselves, which is important. I would highly recommend Jay Bilt Construction to anyone who is looking for a quality job!

Was working with Jim + his architect for 2 months when all of a sudden Jim called me and told me he was too busy for my $200k home addition and left me high and dry. Jim wasn't great about following up and providing updates, which caused unnecessary delays during the planning process. Jim finally admitted he was unfamiliar with my city's requirements for setbacks and lakefront.

I can't comment on his craftsmanship, but his communication was unprofessional and poor. He never refunded the deposit I gave him for the architect, so I've decided to leave this review. Would not recommend. EDIT: adding in that Jim's architect requested an additional $500 to release the plans we had been working on. Still to this day Jim never acknowledged me as a customer, even though I directly handed money over to him.

Jim and J Bilt as a company are racist and scared of Detroit. I set up an appointment to get a quote for a new garage construction and was willing to pay cash. I even had to take time off work to make the appointment. Jim drove by and called me without even talking to me in person or walking through my yard and told me he couldn't fit a cement truck in my space and couldn't do the job.

Well a cement truck obviously fits because we poured a new foundation a few months prior and because of that we wouldn't even need a cement truck. I have a paved alley behind my house with a double wide gate access. I also have TWO vacant lots next to my house so you can readily access it from the street as well. What a bunch of lies. He's just racist and scared of Detroit.

We had our garage destroyed on July 7, 2020 in a storm with a 60+ ft. tree had fallen on top of it. Just the day prior to the storm, I was driving though a Royal Oak neighborhood and saw a Jay-Bilt construction crew building a garage. I drove through after the storm and called the number on that lawn sign. It was a blessing. Jim was out 2 days later, gave us the estimate which was quite reasonable.

After the garage was demolished, concrete set Jim's team was out and had the garage all roughed in in just under 8 hours. Then the siding crew was out. It was the smoothest construction project we have ever experienced. HIGHLY recommend!

Jay-Bilt did work for us in 2015. A friend asked us if we would recommend someone for an addition they are planning. We appreciated how Jim handled us as a customer, always informing us of what was going to happen and kept us I the loop. The work is of extreme quality. We are very happy!

We worked with jim and his team on extending a portion of our house to add a bathroom and closet. Everything turned out amazing and the tile guy and finishing carpenter were my favorites to work with. Construction is always a long process and there are bumps along the way. Being patient and understanding and communication are all keys to making your space what you want it to be. We are so happy we did our space.

I couldn't be happier with the experience. Jim from JayBilt was responsive, thoughtful, and provided plenty of ideas and options for the garage project. Construction went well and the only hiccups we really had were weather and inspection. The response from inspection was quickly cleared up and everything continued. Now I have a beautiful garage that matches my home, and my family and I couldn't be happier. If you've got a big job like this, go with JayBilt.

Had a new garage with finished loft built last summer. Jim was very easy to work with from design stage through finished product. He made smart suggestions during the build and gladly accommodated a few last minute changes we made along the way. Felt all his subcontractors did great work and were very friendly. Would use Jay Built again for future projects.

Extremely satisfied with our brand new custom detached garage! Jim listened to all our requests and concerns, made recommendations, explained the pros and cons of all the different options throughout the project and was very transparent with us when it came to cost estimates. Jay-Built and their contractors did a fantastic job, executing the project with quality and professionalism.

After hearing positive reviews about Jay Bilt, I called them to come out and quote a kitchen remodel. From the first meeting to the end of a substantial project, Jim was straightforward about the process and was directly involved by being on site or in contact with me everyday that work was going on. From the demo crew to all the different skilled trades, every person was very professional, on time, and cleaned up daily.

Not having a kitchen for several weeks can get stressful, but Jim and his crew made the process as painless as possible. We added some items and made some changes to the original plan with no inconvenience or time lost. The end result was well worth it, they did a tremendous job! My wife and I would absolutely use this company again, and would certainly recommend them to others as well.
