Down home build my deck last year and the whole experience from sales to completion was great. This year I noticed that my deck sways a bit, I am not sure, so I have been trying to reach them via email and phone but haven't heard back from them so far. I hope everything is fine and they are not ignoring my calls. I would have given them 5 stars but I am really disappointed them not returning my call. Update Amy called me and sent someone to fix the issue. I haven't used the deck much after that due to rain and cold temperatures but it appears the sway is gone. Changing my review to 4stars Thank you Joe.

While the initial installation of our Trex deck and overhang was good, this company would not return our calls to address workmanship issues that arose after a short period of time. For the amount money we spent, I was extremely disappointed that we could not even get a return call from Joe after countless attempts calling his office and leaving messages for him.
The subcontracted siding job buckled badly and our Trex lighting start having issues within 2 years. Upon inspection, the low voltage wiring was poorly routed with large bundles of excess wire between the transformer and LED lights. Lots of excess wire = high resistance = heat. The 2 wire bundles overheated and melted into each other creating part the issue.
The wire routing and connections were also poorly done, causing some lights go out within the first year. I had to have someone correct these issues and am having to buy new Trex LED riser lights with hope that they address the last of the issues. This is after buying a new transformer and having the wiring and connections redone by an electrician. Needless to say, DH Construction clearly did not back their work and are unprofessional to not even acknowledge our issues after we paid them to do a 700sqft Trex deck and a 400sqft overhang extension to our house.

I needed three sets of stairs for the three entrances into our home, including the stairs up to our veranda. We really appreciate the workmanship and care taken to produce the product. Cannot say enough about how great the deck turned out and the experience we had with the Downhome Construction Team! Andy and his son were the installers. Not only did they do an amazing job, but more importantly, they are wonderful people. They made sure that everything was absolutely perfect with the deck. They did not cut corners, and spent the extra time to make sure it looked perfect.

Down Home Construction made this project easy from start to finish. They were prompt and professional right from the initial consultation. They were willing to work with us on a nice design that fit within our budget, completely tore out the old deck and installed the new one (approx 15' x 24') in less than 2 weeks. Probably would have been even faster if we didn't have a polar vortex on us! Also, did a thorough job of cleaning up scraps after. We are very happy with the final product and would recommend these guys for your deck remodel.

From day 1 it was hassle free, everyone was wonderful. The crew was pleasant and was very clean and organized. My deck was installed when they said it would be, and it turned out BEAUTIFUL!
