In early 1994, Michael McCord began his career as a custom home builder around Kaufman, Texas. The early years were very special to him as he met some of the finest people from all over North Texas. From those humble beginnings, he met and contracted to build homes for so many wonderful people from Athens to Anna, Texas and everywhere in between.
Amber Di'Lane loves creating spaces that honor each client's lifestyle and vision. From function and flow to facade and finishes, we collaborate with our clients on the necessities and the nuances of their dream home. Akin to our construction process, we take a streamlined approach through the design stages to establish key benchmarks, clear timelines, and above all, gain a keen understanding of your future home. In early 1994, Owner Michael McCord combined a naturally entrepreneurial mindset with the values he learned as a young man - from parents who he describes as "two of the world's finest people" - to create a custom homebuilding company that was destined to be a success. Michael entered the construction field while still in high school working for an electrical and heat and air contractor.

We've lived in our Amber DiLane home for about two years now and remain very satisfied overall. Even now as we watch other new homes appear in our neighborhood we can see how much better the workmanship and project execution were by comparison. We bought a new build before in the Dallas area and can say Mike and his crew were a vastly superior experience. Is the house perfect - no but it's very good.
It's important to remember that a house has many thousands of parts - to get everything right would be impossible - especially with a custom job and customers that may make errors. I wish I could send a message back to myself to avoid the really high efficiency HVAC we got but such is life. However even when things went wrong Mike dealt with us very fairly.
