Greenhut was founded in Northwest Florida in 1946, and this is the place we've called home ever since. For the first 40 years of our history, we took projects in Florida, Alabama, Georgia and even Mississippi in an ever-expanding footprint. We did our work well and were looking to do more of it. But we found that the further we strayed from our home base, the harder it became to do our best work.
It was 1946. World War II had just ended when the 35-year-old, industrious, personable Dudley Greenhut set about building a general contracting firm that would become a cornerstone of the Gulf Coast's construction industry. The company he founded quickly developed a reputation for performing quality work on schedule.
Our philosophy is simple: Work together with everyone involved to deliver the best project possible on time and on budget. The process we've developed over three generations of Greenhut leadership ensures this happens every time. We begin with a team kick-off meeting in which everyone working on the project gets on the same page by identifying goals and designating roles and responsibilities.
We take pride and care in every project we take on because we're working in our own community. We're building to make our own neighborhood, our own city, and our own region more beautiful and more robust. Our projects include every commercial category imaginable. And our successes are not just our own. They are our clients' and all Northwest Florida's.
