A1 answered my phone call after 4:00 pm and sent men to my home the next day at 8:00am to estimate and then ultimately install a chimney liner. It was required because the water heater became orphaned due to a new high efficiency heating and air install I just had done. Chris quickly estimated my cost and then to my surprise was ready and prepared to install the liner immediately!

He had multiple options by price for the repair/install and the price was very reasonable. These guys were TERRIFIC! I am a contractor so my standards are ridiculous. I would recommend this company for anyone looking for their chimney to be lined which around here is pretty common need for older homes.

I believe in giving credit where credit is due and I give A-1 a lot of credit. Everyone there was a pleasure to deal with. Steve was very knowledgeable and informative. We had a new chimney liner installed and it was done professionally and in a timely manner. I do not have any complaints about this company and would definitely hire again. Thanks!

This company came out (it's who my oil company sent out for maintenance). Phil was AWESOME! Not just awesome, but super awesome. He was patient in explaining what was happening, what needed replacing and was awesome enough to show us the pictures. My parents, who are a bit older, didn't really understand until they saw the pics. He was fast, very polite and knowledgeable. What a great asset he is. Thanks, Phil! I recently had a visit from this company for a Chimney Cleaning. My oil company uses them, so they sent them out for me. I had an appointment scheduled for Saturday April 24th, but they contacted me (on Friday the 15th) and asked if I was available today. I luckily was, so we moved the appointment up. I received a call from Glenn saying he would be over in 15-20 minutes. Glenn and his partner, David, showed up right on schedule and were very personable and knowledgeable about everything.

They had great personalities, and we joked around and talked a lot. Glenn was great about telling me issues that he came across, and explaining what needs to get done to fix them. When I explained that the cost was too high at this time (tax season), he came up with SEVERAL solutions that were plausible at this time. He also never made me feel bad for not doing the work immediately. I really appreciated both Glenn's and David's service, and would recommend them to others.

They were able to repair my chimney without delay. They had the necessary parts on hand which it would have taken my local contractor 2 weeks to get. Each technician who was on the job was knowledgeable, courteous, and very professional. I just recommended them to my son who will also use them

We were getting leaks during major rain storms and the ceiling leaked twice in about 6 months. With winter coming we wanted to alleviate that. I didn't check Yelp before going with this company, but I can see where the negatives on scheduling come from. I can't say if the job fixed the issue like they said it would until the next major rainstorm, so during hurricane season I'll update this review.

I think the people who handle sales should only speak on the numbers, since I was told the job would fix a ponding issue on my lower roof and it did not. I'm also not sure if anyone actually came out to look at my roof before doing the job because I figure that would have been mentioned. I'll check the cameras and update this review. Bottom line, I hope the leaking goes away during hurricane season and that's the end of it or they honor the warranty. Again, everyone I spoke with was pleasant, but I can't help shake the feeling of getting gipped for some reason despite going back and forth for about a month. But I guess that's what lawyers and contracts and warranties are for. #shrug

They do a superior Job for a reasonable price, and they stand behind their work I'd anything is not satisfactory. you can trust these guys!

We woke up Friday to no neat. PSEG came and checked and said it was our chimney. A-1 did our liner installation ten years before, so I called and spoke with Isabel. She took my information and said she would have a crew out ASAP. The team from A-1 was there within and hour and cleaned and inspected our chimney and I had heat within 30 minutes. They were very professional and polite.

I will now call annually to have my chimney inspected and cleaned so this does not happen again. Everyone at A-1 was so great to work with that it was a pleasure working with them.

Used them to seal our fireplace with "smoketite" ceramic insulation as it was beginning to wear out inside. They were very responsive to all my requests and came quickly so we safely resume our winter fire lighting ways! Just as important, they didn't leave a trace of dirt behind.

A very good reliable company. While we started out with concerns, due to several cancelled appointments right before an on-coming storm, we were able to contact the company and they followed through immediately. They heard our concerns and provided excellent quality efficient work. I would recommend them to anyone in need of chimney repair.

Charged well above premium prices. 129 for the inspection, 599 for the cleaning, and 799 for sealing some mortar on the interior of the fireplace. Once the work was done I went to close the damper and discovered the following. The damper is broken which was not identified in the inspection. The inspection sheet is blank and the technician never checked the outside of the chimney or the cap.

The chimney is absolutely not clean, I can clearly see thick layers of carbon buildup up the chimney and all throughout the fire box. The chimney is also still full of cob webs. The seal is basically globbed on and had numerous gaps where cracks in the mortar is still visible. The seal coating has large patches missing and simply isn't done properly.

I will need to have someone elsecome out to do all of the services over again but I will be disputing these charges. 1600 dollars charged for a job not done or not done to standard.

First of all, they were late to the appointment. They originally came to clean my fireplace, somehow the first place They went to was my chimney ( furnace) took pictures. Simple fireplace cleaning turned into changing the lining in my furnace chimney.2100$ later. Technicians are very well trained to get money out of you. They know where the big buck is.

When they were done, I asked for them to clean the chimney, unfortunately.they forgot their brushes! 2 months later I get a letter stating I need to get an inspection done and another 84$ charge for permit!I was never made aware of this. I must say, the technicians were professional and did a good job, they advertise low prices just to get into your home. People be aware.

My oil vendor suggested a chimney inspection. I know the liner had been replaced 10 years ago so I though this would be a routine thing. It turns out the replacement had been done with the wrong materials. A-1 was able to provide me with a reasonable price to correct this. Their technicians were here on time, quickly and efficiently completed the job. I thoroughly recommend their services.

Had a simple clean. Guys that came out were professional, explained what they needed to do and were on time. Scheduling is not easy. They cancelled my first appointment. Didn't provide a reason. Was able to reschedule. I was told they don't do their routing/scheduling in advance, so it is difficult to make sure someone is home. However, I am satisfied with the work done.

I called this company a week ago for a chimney cleaning. They told me it was $129. On the day the service was scheduled the guy was 2 hours late and they never called to let me know. When he got here he sat in his car on his phone and gave my husband a wait a minute finger. Then after the process was complete he said it was going to be $425! Then he said they make him work Sundays and asked for a tip! I will never use this business again!

What was to be a simple flue cleaning, turned out to be so much more. A previously installed liner was done completely wrong. It was shown to me with pictures, pointing out issues and detailing what was a problem vs. how it should be handled. That was on a Friday evening. Next morning Frank and his crew were back and went to work, each worker knowing what they had to do and going right to it.

All the workers were polite, courteous and knowledgeable and the real show stopper; you truly believed they enjoyed their job. We talked, discussed options, joked a bit and 2 1/2 hours later they were gone. Job complete, professionally done. The only way you knew they were there is that the area of my basement where they worked was cleaner then when the arrived.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I waited in my house all day, 9-5 window I was given, and when nobody showed up by 4:15, I called and was reassured that they were still coming. At 5:30, still nobody showed. I called and was told sorry, we can come on Monday. Absolutely unreliable and unprofessional!

Our former chimney company had gone out of business and we were not happy with the person who took over that business. We were connected to A-1 through Region Energy and figured we'd give them a try. They will now be on our list for our yearly cleaning and inspection! They did a very thorough job, were very careful about creating any mess in our family room, and were very personable young men! The office did a follow-up to make sure we were satisfied with the work completed. We certainly were satisfied!

Great team came to clean our fireplace chimney flue - kept at it until it was thoroughly clean. Checked the furnace flue's and found they did not need cleaning this year. Very conscientious and clean. Great job.

A-1 crew came and relined my chimney with a new stainless steel double wall liner, put a new cap on the top and connected all to the heater. They cemented everything and sealed it all. The oil company I use recommended A-1 Chimney and I called to get an estimate. Instead of having to wait weeks for an appointment as three other companies had, A-1 was out promptly, reviewed what needed to be done as detailed on the home inspection, made their recommendations and provided a detailed and economical way to make the repairs. I needed a stainless steel flue insert for the new oil furnace with a chimney cap, and for the two wood burning fireplaces I needed new dampers for each and the extension of the chimney four courses to be in code.

Prior to them showing up for the work, Mike sent photos of the brick they intended to use to allow me to verify a good match (it matches perfectly). We discussed a custom chimney cap for the fireplace chimney, and I went with it even though he said it wasn't really required. The crew had to reschedule due to the storm Ida passing through the area, but did show up the next working day as promised.

The 3 man crew went right to work, had the furnace work done within an hour and a half and used the rest of the day to finish the fireplace work which was extensive. They used dropcloths inside, cleaned up outside and everything is now up to code and functional. A job well done! Thank you!

A-1 visits each year to inspect and clean the chimney liner they installed. They work quickly and efficiently - cleaning and checking the liner from top to bottom. The technicians always greet us with a smile. We've had them do other work as well (chimney cap & gap filling) and all of it was well done.

A1 Affordable was recommended to me by my oil/furnace provider. Over the years they've done yearly inspections and cleaning of my chimney and installed a chimney liner. This year, on a routine maintenance call, one of the gentlemen showed me several pictures of the interior of the top and exterior of the chimney. Not a pretty sight (the roof is flat, so I've never seen it).

They recently did a rebuild and came back several days later to do a quick chimney sweep to get rid of any debris that may have fallen during the rebuild. Every gentleman from A1 that's worked at my home has been polite and professional. They've always left my property cleaner than it was before they got there. And, I've never had any scheduling issues with the office staff. I would recommend them and would not hesitate to use their services in the future.

Oil furnace chimney cleaning This morning I got a call that they were cancelling my appointment for the FOURTH TIME. Yes 4 times, they cancelled on me for staffing issues. Their window is 9-5, and you have to fight after many cancellations for a narrower window. I fought for a discount. Let's see if they show up next month. I got them through my oil company, but will find someone else next month. Fifth time a charm? I'll let you know. Bottom line. Don't bother

Identified the issue for our heating systems and was able to schedule us quickly. The workers were extremely clean and quiet as could be expected. They all adhered to Covid guidelines as we are a dental office. A-1 lived up to its name.

They never provided a quote for the work after looking at the project. The vendor never called to follow up

Recently had our chimney on a Levittown rancher style house removed and replaced with a new one. Workers were very clean and professional. Went out a few times to check on progress and was please to see workers checking levelness with level after place the bricks. Very pleased with workmanship and appearance of new chimney

Less than 1 star, the guy acted as if I owed him money just for him to answer the call. The 4 hour time window should just be clear your schedule for the whole week because who knows when we can actually get to you. And when I mentioned their rate seemed high compared to some of the other companies, the guy got super defensive and tried to mansplain me, yes mansplain.

I am a man who is in the carpentry field mind you. Needless to say, never ever trust a business that begins with an (A) because it's the first you'll always see in a search, so they treat you like you need them. Customer is not always right with the A-1 assholes!

I lost count of how many times they rescheduled on me- I think it was 5 or 6. The night before they were finally supposed to come they called and said they couldn't service gas fireplaces even though they had previously said they could. Extremely unprofessional and not an ounce of remorse for cancelling so many times.

Disappointed is an understatement. In the middle of closing on a house, a chimney inspection company canceled on us and we were forced to find another company fast. I called this company and explained the situation. A supervisor came on the phone and said given the situation, they would squeeze me in for the following day. I was very happy because this would keep us in the 10 day count to get inspections done.

I asked to be sure if he positive if we would get the chimney inspection the following day because if they weren't 100% sure, I was going to continue calling companies. He said that wasn't necessary and he felt bad that another company had canceled and he assured me they would be there the following day. I made the appointment with the receptionist, who also assured me they would be there.

The following day comes, they confirm the appointment and then a few hours later call me back (a dispatcher this time) to say they needed to reschedule. I explained the situation and Mike said he completely understood and would find a way to make it work and get some one there. He told me he'd call me back within an hour to verify but would make sure someone was there. An hour passes, no call. An hour and 15 minutes pass, still nothing.

So I called to check in and they told me they'd call back again. 20 minutes before they were supposed to arrive, they called me to cancel! Barely an apology, no offer to come another time, no offer to come another day or even a discounted rate if they could still earn my business, just a "I'm sorry I do feel bad but there's nothing I can do". Need I say more? I figure not.

I had to have a stainless steel liner inserted into my chimney prior to having a new heater installed. I needed it in a hurry, and A-1 Affordable came out the next day - a Saturday - and completed the installation quickly and efficiently. The workers protected my floors, wore masks, and I was able to proceed with the heater installation on-schedule. Great job!

Reached out to A1 for a roof replacement / chimney liner. We talked pricing, a low end cost and a WORST CASE scenario cost. But somehow, someway, my roof was the once in a blue moon WORST, WORST CASE scenario and it would be an additional $2,300. So now my roof is already being ripped out and it is unsafe to continue on without agreeing to this additional work.

What is the point of a WORST-CASE scenario quote if it actually isn't. They specialize in chimney's yet somehow the state of my chimney caught them by surprise. I give them 3 stars because they were quick and the workman ship appears solid. But the change in pricing was a tough pill to swallow.

As a first time home buyer it can be a bit nerve wrecking when you hear that the chimney has issues that could cause a fire. However, the repair man, Eddie, was super pleasant and patient with us as he explained the issues, showed pictures, and explained what needed to be done. I am happy to know that I'll be in the A1 system and that they will keep on top of my chimneys on a yearly basis, it does add a cushion of relief.

The work they performed was fine. Their collections was appalling. They performed the work on a Wednesday and left a bill onsite. I called the office two days later, that Friday, and paid it. Receipt paid in full received via email. Charge on my credit card clearly showing the company name for the entirety of the invoice. On the following Monday, two men from the company showed up on my property unannounced and harassed my husband for not paying. Stating that they had called multiple times and we hadn't paid.

Neither my husband or I had any record of calls or voicemails. Nothing on the invoice indicated pay in full upon receipt. Further, we signed no contract indicating we would do so. To do this FOUR BUSINESS DAYS AFTER COMPLETION is simply shocking. If you think I haven't paid a bill, pick up the phone, call me, leave a message. Don't make a scene on my property.

Setting up appointments has been easy and convenient. Crews show up on time and always call beforehand and perform flawlessly -even in inclement weather. Technicians are polite, friendly, and professional.

The service is always thorough, and I have never been overcharged. After my services, I receive follow-up calls to ensure I am satisfied with the work done and my experience. I highly recommend A-1 and will continue to remain a loyal customer.
