New Image Decks Construction

Mike showed up at our home and guffawed when I politely asked him to wear a mask. From the onset of reviewing our deck for refurbishment it seemed that he had no interest in bidding the project. As we detailed what we wanted to have done he objected to whatever we said. He also said that our entire staircase needed be torn out due to it being not code compliant. We checked with our city Building Inspector and was advised that the staircase was compliant. Obviously, we would not recommend Mike or his business under any circumstances.

Mike came out and gave me a bid. I gave him his down payment right away so he could get a permit pulled. He waited a couple months to apply for the permit that was denied by the city. I emailed, called, and text him and he won't give my deposit back. He doesn't understand how to run a business, you DON'T get paid to give bids! Now I'm hearing from other people in the Waconia area that he does poor quality work.

Was very nice up front. Had issue with deck not much after the deck was done. Never returned calls. Had another builder come look and fix multiple issues.

Mike and his crew did an excellent job in building our deck and new porch. We now have a beautiful cedar screened in porch and composite deck. He was very easy to work with and we are a very satisfied customer.

Look no further for a deck builder than Mike from NEW IMAGE DECKS. Let me explain why? First let me tell you a little about my background in construction. I am the owner of Roen Roofing & Remodeling Inc located in waconia, MN. I have over 23 years of experience in the construction industry and I have over two thousand happy customers. I know a little bit about working for different people.

Not everyone is looking for reasons to be happy, sometimes your going to run into people that are trying to find reasons to be not happy or they just don't understand that not everything in life goes perfect. But if there is a deck builder that can be perfect it's mike from New Image Decks. Why do I feel this way about new image decks? #1 - Mike built my 14'x34' cedar deck over 12 years ago and it's as solid as the day he was finished.

Since than I've been on hundreds of my customers decks and have seen the difference in quality between mikes decks and other deck builders. Mike wins hands down! No contest because his decks are solid and are a better value for the homeowners of this community. If you don't believe me just ask the building official that has inspected thousands of decks.

I can't give you names but when the person that inspect all the decks, plans to hire or would hire New Image Decks to do there own deck or addition. What does that tell you. It tells you that mikes the best choice. Note : Building officials generally are not allowed to recommend contractors because of rules set by employers. But I have talked in private with hundreds of building officials over the years to have my roofing jobs inspected and mike from New Image Decks name has been brought up many times as the best deck builder around. #2 - New Image Decks did most of the decks and additions in my neighborhood, I know for sure he did well over half the decks in my neighborhood and every homeowner that mike has done work for has been happy and would hire him again.

I generally will not recommend other construction contractors because if something goes wrong with the contractor that I recommend, it would have a negative impact on my relationship with my happy customer. But I have taken that chance with mike and every person that I have recommended New Image Decks to has been extremely satisfied. The main reason I wrote this review was because I could not believe New Image Decks was not rated 5 stars.

I guess the only people who write reviews are the people who found a reason not to be happy and they should seek a medical doctor or something because Mike from New Image Decks is the most highly respected deck and addition construction carpenter in the local area. Also I never write reviews, but that explains why mikes thousands of satisfied customers haven't taken the time to write one either.

Always very helpful, is efficient, on top of getting back to me and communicating with me. Mike and his team are great and I would suggest them to anyone!

Paid almost 8K for a new deck. One of my posts were split where Mike and crew nailed in my handrail. I called Mike and asked for him to come out and fix it. He agreed, but never came. That was 6 weeks ago and I never heard from him again. I called multiple times and left several voicemails. I've text and emailed a have received no response. What a terrible way to do business.

I paid promptly and fully and was left with a damaged deck. Update: 5/9/2016 Mike came back to our neighborhood to do one of our neighbors decks. I noticed his truck outside, so I stopped over to ask if he could come look at our deck and repair the damaged board and handrail that he installed last year. He basically told me that he would not finish my deck because the lightposts I pick or hard to install and he had to go physically pick them up from the Twin Cities.

I don't understand how that has anything to do with the fact that I have a damaged board and a damaged handrail. He couldn't even look me in the eye. I'm sure he has many happy customers. And usually I don't leave poor reviews even when I'm unhappy. But there is something that's really rude about telling someone you will do something, and then not showing up to complete the job and then dodging their phone calls for months.

It's poor business practice. When I spoke to him at my neighbors house he acted as though I owed him something. Like he did me a favor by doing my deck? When you're compensated to do a job that you agreed to do. Just finish the dang job! Sad really.

We could not have been more pleased with the three season porch we hired him to build. We met with him before hand and told him what we were thinking (and showed him some images of porches we liked). His finished project was so much nicer than we even envisioned. His team is great. They are pleasant to have around and do great work. Highly recommend this business. Very high quality work.
