Excellent communication. It felt like I was catching up with an old friend. Robert was on time and extremely knowledgeable. My reason for needing a home inspection was not traditional, but after explaining the situation to him, he got right on it - with a couple of laughs here and there! I received an excellent inspection for pre drywall and final inspection. Robert goes up and beyond in his inspections like he is inspecting his own home. Definitely professional, friendly and knowledgeable on code etc. He is quick to respond and definitively a high recommendation from me.

I could not have asked for a better home inspector! Halston Welch went above and beyond to help me throughout my home building process. He did multiple phase inspections and always provided a detailed report. After each inspection he was happy to go over the report with me and answer any questions including those not listed on the report. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and I would happily hire and work with ATEX Inspects again in the future!

I used this company because after talking to them and looking at their website they seemed legit. After moving into the home, we found that the roof was bad so our home warranty cancelled us. They provided us pictures where the shingles are peeling upwards. We also found a huge electrical problem. The whole fuse box is burned is causing outages in multiple circuits.

These are all things that could have easily been found when inspecting the home. It's all costing us thousands of dollars that we don't have. I really feel like the previous home owners paid them to pass the house. Very disappointed.

Robert completed an inspection of our new build home and did a wonderful job. I am at the new house nearly every day and he still caught a number of things I missed. And, most importantly, Robert was able to come out to the house and complete the inspection quickly on short notice and he was able to turn around the report same day. Robert has been a great help to us when purchasing a home. He will provide competitive rates which are listed on his website, so you will not feel blind sided by pricing. He was able to explain all the noteworthy deficiencies to a person who knows the bare minimum about what to look for. Even a few weeks later when asked a follow up question, he was able to respond quickly with detailed notes. We highly recommend this inspection company! We had a hard time finding the right house for us in the Clear Lake area, so Robert ended up inspecting more than one house for us! He is very friendly and easy to talk to. He explained any issues and recommended honestly if we could do it ourselves or if we needed to hire a professional. I definitely recommend this company. We needed an unexpected home inspection with a major time constraint. While all others were unavailable, Robert was able to schedule us for the same day that I called. Between our realtor and the inspector Halston (Robert's son) there was miscommunication relayed to my husband and I. We arrived for our scheduled inspection and waited for about 20 minutes and still no inspector.

We then reached out to Robert to reconfirm appointment and were told that the inspection had been done a couple hours earlier (without us) as agreed with realtor. Realtor was unaware. However, Robert was determined to fix this mishap. He had Halston call us and Halston offered to come back to the home and go over the findings of the inspection with us in person.

That was exceptional customer service! Halston too was sweet and friendly. He took his time and didn't rush us at all. He answered all of our questions and even provided advice that we asked for. At the day's end Halston provided us with our copy of the inspection with detailed notes and colored pictures. Not to mention they were the most fair priced out of all the companies I spoke to.

Mr Welch and Halston were a blessing to work with. We're on the verge of closing on a new house and we couldn't have asked for a more professional duo. Halston came out on time. Took his his time to detail each and every item that needed some type of repair or review. He was patient with our questions and explained everything, sometimes twice just so I could get a better understanding.

The final report was sent that very same evening and I was able to send it to our agent right away. In fact the report was so detailed that a 3rd party who reviewed it to give us an estimate on the repairs needed, complimented just how thorough it was. We also thought we needed an additional service however Halston advised how it was unnecessary due to the area we are in and why.

He could have easily added the service for an additional fee but was honest on why it wasn't needed. Lastly Mr. Welch himself helped me out with an additional question I had on a Sunday afternoon. He offered to explain and review additional details of the report I had. I felt bad about having to call on a Sunday but he was more than helpful without hesitation. I hope this review helps you pick the #1 team in the Houston area. They are without a doubt the best around!

I had Robert do an inspection on my home to get an unbiased opinion other than from the builder. He communicated well about his arrival time, and worked efficiently. He tested all my appliances, plugs, and went through the whole home and outdoors. He was very good at explaining things, and even was able to answer questions that I had about the home.

Their prices are straightforward and public, so it's clear what you'll be paying - which is reasonable. Reports are sent via email the same day. Would definitely use his service again.

We had a home inspection done on our potential home we have in contract yesterday May 24, 2019. Robert came out and greeted us, very nice gentlemen and he got straight to work. We walked through the house with him as he inspected and he gave us lots of insightful information for my husband and I as first time home buyers. The overall inspection took about 2 hours but that was as expected, we wanted everything to be properly checked.

We paid him right then and received our report the very same day later on at night. Report was very thorough and he explained all he's findings very well. He is a must if you need a home inspection done! Very nice work and a very nice person overall! Thanks Robert!

We had Halston do our pre-drywall inspection and Robert do our Final inspection on our new build. They were both very thorough in their reports. They both respond in timely manners and send the report back same day. They have found things that we would not have found that needed to be fixed. He'll give you a quality inspection all while explaining what he's looking at and why, all while keeping it light hearted and making you laugh. And the man served our great country. Detailed and thorough! Robert and Halston Welch did an excellent job inspecting our soon to be new home. My wife and I are purchasing a new home and wanted to have are own inspection before the actually "walk through" through the builder. Robert and Halston did a detailed inspection inside and out; they found a several things missing, not installed, installed improperly on a NEW home. They did a great job! I highly recommend them for any type of home inspection.

I had my new construction home inspected by Robert Welch during the pre-drywall phase. Scheduling at the last minute was very easy and he kept in contact with me every step of the way. His work was very thorough. He was able to identify several deficiencies that need to be addressed by the builder. I am highly satisfied with his work.

Robert is excellent. We used him for a phase inspection for our new build and will be calling him for final inspection as well. We had some issues with insulation being in the house when he got there meaning he couldn't inspect. We had the builder remove the insulation and Robert went back out *again* for us. He was very thorough and answered all questions we had. Also, our report was ready the same day. Highly recommended.

I had Robert from Atex inspect my house before I purchased and he definitely saved me a lot of time, money, and headache he inspected the house on a mid afternoon day by that evening I had a full detailed report with pictures to back it up. I had to call him and ask him something I saw on the report and he immediately knew the house I was talking about and had an answer to every question I had. Fair price for a great service.

Robert is not only very thorough in his inspections, he's also extremely courteous and punctual with his reports. We called him on a Sunday with a very tight deadline and he was eager to get to the property and provide us with a detailed report (photos included) within hours of the inspection. As we were making amendments to our home contract (based on the report), he was available to answer our questions and explain exactly what it was we needed to ask for.

Not only does Robert look in every nook and cranny, he also uses that newfangled thermal imaging thing that other places charge $200-400 extra for. With it, he found that there was insulation missing behind a firewall in the attic. An honest mistake by the contractors, but one that would've resulted in a hotter summer in the master bedroom. On top of being an expert, ATEX Inspects seems to have some of the more affordable home inspection services in the Greater Houston area. (He's easily worth twice as much.)

Simply the best! Robert shows extreme attention to detail, gives you the report the same day, is fair priced, and ultimately just a great guy to work with. And he's a veteran to boot.
