We started the building process with Berks and it started out great and then went downhill. The lack of communication is exhausting, the lack of professionalism from their realtor (G. Yoder) is disgusting. We have never been talked so down to or felt belittled so much in our lives. Every ounce of the process was clear as mud. What we were told about what was needed financially was always wrong & something always felt sneaky within it all. I appreciate those that were honest and kind during the process but dealing with the realtor during it all was horrible. Glad we got out.

Chastity at Berks Homes has been amazing so far. We have just started the process of looking at a Berks Homes to build. She has been great to work with in this process. She really takes time to listen and understand what is important to us in our future home. There is no up selling of items we don't need. If there is a question she doesn't have the answer to right away, she makes sure to follow up.
It is like shopping for a home with a friend. Once we complete the entire process and have a home built I will follow up, but so far everything has been amazing. **Update, we have been in our house for 8 months and Berks Homes has been amazing. The entire process of building with them was great and everyone that works for Berks Homes is amazing to work with. Justin from the warranty team is so great to work with and nothing is to small of an issue or a question to bring up.

My daughter and her husband bought their first home. It was a brand new townhome built by Berks Homes. I have had 2 homes built, and can honestly say the quality Berks puts into their homes is top notch. The fixtures they use are much nicer and better quality than most builders use and their attentiveness during the whole project was great. Should my wife and I build another home I will definitely look to purchase a Berks Home.

Finding a home that fits one's need is a tedious process. Here at Berks homes we were happy to find the best combination of what we needed in a house as well as the best people who worked to make the process easier for us. Jayson was of great help in our decision making and was very patient and accommodating in our requests. Also, he made sure that we were updated with the progress in the building of our house. Scott, who was in charge of the construction, also made sure that our expectations were met and also was quick to respond whenever we had some minor cosmetics that needed to be addressed. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience with Berks Homes as a whole. Randy S. - Homeowner

We chose Berks Homes to build our dream home. Everyone we worked with was great. Matt Entrekin was amazing to work with and Andy Eck was very knowledgeable, Responsive and really helped us understand every step of the build. His weekly updates helped us with knowing what to expect. The selection gallery process was fun and their staff were also very helpful. We went to closing when promised and honestly they made what was a stressful time enjoyable. I would highly recommend Berks Homes.

My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Chastity at Berks Homes beginning our journey to home ownership. Right from the prompt initial contact from Chastity, we knew this was a company we wanted to work with. Being our first home, my wife and I had been in contact with multiple other new developers, but Berks Homes was the only company who was professional, prompt, and transparent.
We are really looking forward to our home and continuing to work with Chastity and her colleagues as they take our ideas and choices and turn them into our dream home! Update: Just completed the final option selections on our new home and what a joy this whole process has been! We met with Angela and Craig at their newly renovated selection gallery and the process could not have gone more smoothly.
The two of them made this process easy but more importantly fun! The level of detail that you can customize your home is fantastic and the choices of standard options is impressive. We are looking forward to our new home even more now that our vision has been translated to a new home ready to be built!

Berks Homes at Morgan's Crossing did an outstanding job on our house. Our salesperson, Jayson answered all of our questions. Scott, our builder, was also very thorough and responsive. I definitely would recommend Berks Homes to both our family and friends. A great quality house and it's also good value. Our house is now our new home! Services: Drywall installation, Install flooring, Paint indoors, Garage design & building

We have been in our new Berks home for two months now and our experience from start to finish was great! Jayson was so helpful and responsive throughout the entire process. Awesome service even when given the challenges of the pandemic. We are so happy with our Berks home and look forward to continuing to create "our story" in it.

Kathleen was outstanding as the selling agent and very responsive through the sales process. She coordinated extremely well with Scott, the building site supervisor, with specific construction related questions. East Gallery selection team was outstanding. Once construction began Scott kept us well briefed and was consistently in tune with our selection details and desires. Toby and colleagues at the Warranty Office have been very professional and responsive in addressing issues identified during the ongoing home warranty period. We thank the Berks team for helping us achieve our goal of settling into our brand-new home!

We have been in our Berks Home for a week now and couldn't be happier! From the very beginning, Berks Homes has been great to work with. They are very responsive and accommodating. When we first met with Jayson Quon, we were blown away with how informative he was and his patience when working with us while we sold our previous home. We never felt pressured or rushed into anything.
While building, Jayson, sent updates and pictures weekly and continues to check in with us even after we have moved in. Our three year old even loves Jayson and asks to go visit him on a daily basis! Once construction started, we began working with Scott, the project manager. He also was very responsive to the millions of questions we had. He sent weekly updates and was always available to walk through the house with us when needed.
We have been in the house for a week now and any questions or simple repairs we have needed, he has gotten someone to the house right away, even on a Saturday! I can't say enough great things about this company and the employees at the Morgan's Crossing development. I would definitely recommend them to others!

Absolutely horrendous builder. These homes are nothing but problems from the moment you close. The superintendent will lie to your face and the company will push back on every request. If I could go back in time I would absolutely choose a different builder. After about 5 months of living in the home I have had significant amounts of water in my basement in multiple spots.
After coming out and "repairing", there are still cracks in my foundation allowing water to enter. Berks eluded to the fact water in the basement should not be considered atypical. Berks states they are coming to dig up the foundation and waterproof one side as water proofing is not done when they build the foundation(they lied and originally told me it was).
My drive way is uneven as Berks does not pay the vendor to use the correct amount of black top for drive ways. My paint is uneven and cracking on my ceiling even though I "upgraded" and paid $5,000 more for paint. This company should be avoided at all costs! If you ever need additional opinions come to winding hills and ask any of the berks homes owners about their experience I assume they would be more than happy to oblige.

Before building a house with Berks Home I would go to one of their neighborhoods and talk to the people who live there and ask about the the issues they are having. Or just come to one of Pine Ridge Village's (in Lebanon, PA) HOA meeting and hear about all the issues my neighbors are having with their homes. (Between flooded basements and bad HVAC systems).

So I can tell you that the experience was great with Berks Homes. Our agent Jayson Quon was the greatest. He got back to us within minutes of us expressing interest. We had drawings and everything very very quickly. Every timeline he gave to us was absolutely spot on! The Showcase was great as well. We had our own DEDICATED time to look at all options and picked with two agents working.
I have no idea what the other reviewer went through but that certainly wasn't the case in Carlisle PA Berks. When they ran short on some materials they immediately called, amended the contract and provided options. The agent that met us in Harrisburg (Michelle) was early to our appointment and very helpful even though it was very early morning meeting. I can tell you that this was not our first dealings with companies and Berks had it done RIGHT! BIG Shout Out to Jayson Quon who is the MVP in our minds! Awesome service!

Avoid Berks at all costs! I would rate Berks work with less than 1 star if I could. After a year living in the house, I think my opinion and impressions will be more credible and convincing. This was our first new house and we didn't know what the process with a building company directly is. It's been a nightmare, time and nerves wasted, long lasting battle with everything.
I spent the whole year scheduling, waiting for contractors to come and repair the damages and the poor work. I can write a book explaining the traumatizing experience dealing with Berks. Showroom-Selection works two Saturdays a month. The personnel of 2 part-time employees is overloaded, can't pay attention to everyone, you don't know where to go and what to look and they don't have any variety to offer you.
You don't have time to realize what the best choice for you will be, surrounded by many people, voices, children, distracted, listening someone else's questions. Poor choice - low quality! The problems started when I was allowed to enter the house after all damages were done. The kitchen cabinets didn't have anything to do with the cabinets we ordered.
Completely different kitchen - old, rustic, ugly, leftover in some warehouse. Nobody made the effort to notify me that they don't have the cabinets we ordered and put whatever they decided - quietly, meanly. After stressful negotiations they reimbursed us a little, but just for re-facing the ugly cabinets, we had to pay double price from our pocket.
Different kitchen sink from what we ordered. There is no coordination between the departments, no one works professionally, no one pays attention and somebody overlooked the sink, too. Berks had to change the sink later. After the sink they had to come and measure a new countertop to match the shape of the originally ordered sink. All repairs with us living in the house and continued the whole year.
The stairs of the entrance door and in the garage are in terrible condition - rough surface, with big holes, uneven. The holes keep the water after rain longer, make it difficult to dry. The person from the company came and admitted that it was a lousy job, but it is unrepairable. All doors have up to 2 inches space underneath. The answer was that these are standard doors. No, they are not.
We became crazy looking for thresholds to fill the gap, but nothing on the market matches the Berks' door standard. When we chose the house, Berks didn't have a sample to show us. The architect who designed so uncomfortable house doesn't have a basic knowledge of designing residential houses. Nothing is on the place where it should be. Uncomfortable.
The paint on the walls is the lowest quality possible. Nobody gave me a choice of any other paint more expensive and higher quality. The paint is rough, easy to damage and to leave marks and scratches that are difficult to cover. We always try to walk far from the walls. We requested a sink in the garage that was put in the middle of the wall, which wall became unusable.
Because of the sink they told us the whole garage must be isolated and we paid for that. This winter the water in the faucet froze despite the "insulation" and we had to leave the faucet running for weeks to avoid freezing the pipes. The thermostat is in the middle of the ONLY wall in the living room. Forget about all plans to position Entertainment center which is supposed to be in the living room.
The whole wall is almost unusable because an incapable, incompetent Berks contractor put the thermostat in the middle of the wall. We noticed by chance, months after we settled in the house, that the gas installation going to the kitchen range is missing completely. If we didn't notice they wouldn't know that they didn't install the gas pipes for which we paid.
The floor started cracking and squeaking loudly on the whole second floor. There was no explanation. The floor company came to inspect and the blame was on the weather. Berks build houses that have this noise most of the year and the explanation is the humidity! The humidity is never more than 32% and Berks houses are good ONLY for 55% humidity! The workers, who took off the carpet to check the floor, damaged the marble threshold of the bathroom.
Nobody can repair that ever! The first walk of the ready house was supposed to give us time to see it everywhere, to ask questions. The supervisor Sam was running in the house, talking fast, we were running after him not being able to see anything or to notice all imperfections and defects. They knew in what condition the house is and the fast walk was intentional. I am stunned that Berks is still in business. I am limited here but I can go on and on - STAY AWAY FROM BERKS!

I have been in this business for my entire life. The subcontractors they use should not be doing this kind of work. Rocks under the carpet, uneven driveway, They planted our grass into weeds and are forcing us to pay a landscaper to fix it. Unqualified and horrible people out to sell folks lies. Do not get scammed. You will pay a lot of money for a home that is nowhere close to what is being advertised and promised! Once they have your money they treat you like garbage.
