My wife wanted us to get another home after the flood, but I could not let go that easily due our history there - our only option was to remodel. I found McVaugh Custom Homes in a couple of different local magazines and checked out their work through their site. I spoke with Jim and Mason on a conference call before meeting them that left me confident about McVaugh Custom Homes.

Working with McVaugh Custom homes was a pleasure. They are professionals and really understand the whole building process--from design through closing. Jim McVaugh has a real eye for design and adds touches to his homes that make living so much easier. I would not have guessed it, but I have grown fonder of my home the longer I have lived in it. Jim will definitely build my next home--if I ever move again.

Horrible experience with McVaugh Custom Homes. I purchased my house in 2013, they are nice until get your money, then I had problems all over the house (Foundations, Air condition, stucco, floors, doors, windows). I contacted the builder and got no replay. I called 4 days and finally I spoke to him. The builder Jim McVaugh is defensive and rude. He had no idea of anything about my house.
I don't know how he can be the head of that "company". He is not an engineer nor an architect. He says is graduated from the university of Texas, but that is a huge lie. I don't recommend it. The quality of workmanship is poor. I regret this purchase so much.

I can't even start to describe my experience with this conpany, from the very beginning they started late, delays from the start, the staff acts like they are listening to your requests and answers, then do what they feel like. This is unacceptable on a project of this scope and price. They changed crews and personnel so often I had no idea who to ask questions to, I still not sure who is in charge.
After all was done, I come to find out that allot of things were just covered up or hidden to finish, including 2 inspections. and forget about coming back to fix cracks and problems, once payed, they are gone. I learned they have legal cases against them, not sure why, but I'm guessing is cause of things like this.
