When we first met with M J Whelan we had an unfinished problem project on our hands. They took over and made our vision of a beautiful sunroom a reality. Honesty, reliability, fairness and integrity are a few words that describe our experience working with M J Whelan. This might seem a bit superlative, but it's all true.the MJ Whelan team are all those things. We are so pleased with the overall quality we encouraged our daughter and son-in-law to hire M J Whelan to build their new home.

We've used MJ Whelan for several projects. They are easy to work with & kept us informed every step of the way.

We were thinking about remodeling our kitchen and came upon the beautiful Authentic Kitchen Design (owned by MJ Whelan) showroom on M-59 and decided to stop in. Met designer Dave Nickerson who was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Dave and his assistant, Trisha, helped us design our new kitchen and were ALWAYS available to speak to us and answer our questions.

If they weren't, they returned emails and calls ASAP. AKD's parent company, MJ Whelan, installed our cabinets and couldn't have been more prompt and professional. Any issues that came up were taken care of immediately and without question by AKD or Whelan and superintendent Chris Huber. Randy, the carpenter who did our install, was fantastic as were his assistants James and Joel.

The quality of Randy's work was top notch. And a shout out to our plumber Jim who was fantastic, as well as the counter guys from Lakeside Surfaces. We love our new Kitchen and will use MJ Whelan for future projects! Thanks again Dave, Randy and Chris!

Do not hesitate to use MJ Whelan! We had a mom in law addition added to our home and could not be more pleased. The workmanship is top notch. The crew was very respectful and punctual, always answering my questions with a thorough answer. The general foreman of our job was always accessible and if he didn't answer his phone, always returned my calls promptly. Again, don't hesitate to use MJ Whelan!

The MJ Whelan Team did an extensive interior and exterior home renovation and addition for us. Our kitchen, living room, dining room, laundry room, office, guest room, and two bathrooms were gutted down to the studs. They even took the roof off. They estimated a 6 month time line, and they were right! They got us back in our home just in time for Christmas.

They were great to work with from design, to selection, and even now as we're working through the touch ups. Very responsive. We LOVE our new home! We would chose MJ Whelan again!

We have worked with MJ Whelan on several projects. The first project was about 8 years ago when they did a complete renovation of our entire home, inside and outside. The second project was the conversion of our sun room into our dining room. We are awaiting our third project which will be a screened in porch with vaulted ceilings which will include trusses, we will also have a fireplace.

We continue to be extremely pleased with the quality of their work, their honesty and dependability. Their customer services is beyond anything we have experienced before. They stand behind their work 100%. If we ever had any questions or issues, they always followed up and wouldn't leave until we were 100% satisfied. I have recommended MJ Whelan to several of my friends and family and will continue to do so. I can unequivocally highly recommend them to anyone with a building need. You won't be disappointed.

Our experience with M.J. Whelan has been exceptional to say the least! We have found them to be a genuinely honest, innovative, and positive team who not only creates and carries out amazing designs, but does a fantastic job at incorporating our own personal style in every design. They built our home and just recently finished our basement! Each time their professionalism and positive energy made for a joyful experience!

I would recommend M.J. Whelan 100 times over to anyone looking to build, renovate, or add on. I would like to add that the man who left a 1 star review was a former employee that worked in our home. I remember him as an abrasive man who had trouble completing the work he was supposed to do (or do it correctly), until he was eventually let go. Sounds like a disgruntled former employee being his same immature self.

We recently had M.J. Whelan install built in bookshelves in our Study / Office. They did a great job and work to ensure our complete satisfaction. My wife being a Librarian worked with the designers and installers to get the shelfs and overall appear just the way she wanted. And they worked with her to make sure all the details and touch ups were to her satisfaction as well. Needles to say, we are very pleased with M.J. Whelan and recommend them for any projects you may have.

M.J. Whelan Construction successfully completed 4 home improvement projects for our family, including finishing our basement. Once completed, our basement level was unquestionably the most grand space in our home. We could not recommend them more. You will be treated like family. Professional, courteous, experienced, and an all around joy to work with. It was like they were performing the work on their own homes.

Jeff and I hired Whelan to build our addition onto our house. From design through execution, Whelan listened to what we wanted and constructed beautiful new spaces for our family. Now, we have a new kitchen, laundry, storage, garage and bedroom to enjoy. And the design is seamless and compliments our existing house structure. Matt and his Whelan team are great people and work hard to make sure all milestones are met.

Our on-site Manager, Chris, exceeded our expectations and communicated thoroughly throughout the project. We would highly recommend the Whelan team to others looking to remodel and add-on.

We are absolutely delighted with the kitchen that MJWhelan created for us, and equally importantly, we found them creative as designers and professional in their execution of the project. Greg J was our project manager, and under his management they kept to their completion time projection and stayed within budget. There was no concern or question that they did not address appropriately and promptly, and the team was accessible and available throughout the construction-I do not think that an email or phone call from one of us was not addressed within the hour. I could not recommend a builder more highly than I do MJWhelan.

They're the best of the best! I've been in the business world 37 years and I have yet to meet a company with higher standards who are more interested in their clients welfare then their own pocketbook. I would have them build a second and third home for me. I built a stunning two story 4000 square-foot lakefront home over a 40-year-old old cottage in mediocre shape. Matt knew what we could use from the old cottage i.e. foundation and first floor walls, and his designer created a dream home!

They have followed up for the past eight months on every single issue we have cited that needed attention. They have fixed everything with a joyful attitude and never once complained about coming back numerous times. This summer the landscaping will be completed and our home will be on their website.
